Focus board

This is the electronic focus board that controls the zone focus for all tubes. This board can short out, causing the power supply in the set to pulse on and off as it detects the short. To determine if the focus board is bad, pull the board out of the set with the projector unplugged from the AC power, then start the set back up. The Marquee sets will run without the focus board installed, but of course you lose the ability to control the focus of the set.

Make sure you install the focus board connectors correctly at the top edge of the board. Incorrect orientation of the focus wires will cause the wrong tube to be adjusted.

There are no user adjustable controls on this board, the board either works or it doesn’t.

While it is possible for the zone focus to fail on this board, note that it is normal for the middle zone (overall focus) to have much more range than the edge focus areas.
