for Sale List

Our projectors for sale list
has been updated.
Contact us if you wish to
make a purchase or for more information. Some highlights on what's new:
(Qty: 3)
Barco 909: I have access to
three of these rare units and I now have some replacement parts in stock for
these as well. The current model and the highest end Barco ever made. 9” tubes,
a completely redesigned chassis with 180 Mhz video amplifiers I have three of
these. I had 5, two sold instantly. Insanely sharp image on these. Here’s the
scoop on them:
One came out of a one owner HT
environment. 1500-ish hours on the
chassis only. Mint, mint mint, no tube
wear whatsoever. A great case, 100%
perfect. HFQ-900 lenses Black case.
$11,000.00
The other two came out of a
simulation lab. Hour count is 3500 and
about 5200. The brightness and contrast
were set at 20 when I got these, so
these tubes are as good as new. Zero
tube wear as well, that nice blue Barco
case color. HFQ-900 lenses. $10,000.00
These prices are lower than I’ve seen
advertised before for 909 projectors,
especially with no tube wear. Grab them
while you can!
(Qty: 3)
Marquee 8500: I just got these in,
and all have minimal tube wear, I’d rate
the tubes at an 8/10. excellent shape,
1080p ready, cases in good shape. Fully
functional, ready to go. $2000.00 each.
(Qty: 2)
NEC 9PG Xtra: One small step below
the NEC XG Series, these sets are in as
new condition, no tube wear, astig
control, can be run at 1080p with no
issues. Point boards installed, in great
shape. $2000.00 each.
(Qty: 1)
Barco 1209s:
I have one of these high end sets left.
These were originally SEOS curved screen
projectors, and came from the Johnson
Space Center. I’ve installed mint tubes
into the set, the green one is brand
new, and there’s zero wear on the R and
B tubes. The case is black, and the sets
are 1080p and beyond capable. The case
on this unit is black, and is in good
shape. GT 17 high resolution lenses are
installed on this one. $6500.00
(Qty: 1)
Barco 1209s:
As is, left set for curved screen
use, good red tube, bad G and B tubes,
no lenses $1500.00
(Qty: 1)
Runco 1100: This is based on the
same Barco 1209s chassis as the SEOS
units above, but this set has red and
green coloured C elements installed.
6200 hours on the chassis. Black case.
New green LUG tube installed, the blue
tube is an 8.5, the red a 9.5. Excellent
shape, remote included. GT 17 lenses
installed. Phenomenal shape. $6500.00

NEW PRODUCT: Box1040
Component to RGB Converter
May
28, 2008
The Box1040 component (YPbPr) to RGB converter
provides a picture perfect RGB conversion optimized for HD-ready displays for
full high-definition viewing. It allows you to view high-definition (HD) content
from component sources on your existing projector or HD-ready TV.
The perfect match for the HDfury!
Simply plug the HDfury directly into
the Box1040's RGB IN port and your display to the Box1040's RGB OUT port and you
now have an excellent HDMI input for Blu-ray players (and other HDMI devices)
along with an excellent component input for older devices like cable/satellite boxes
and DVD players. How does the Box1040 make the HDfury better?
-
Adjustable Gamma Boost: The Box1040 adds gamma adjustment to
the HDfury signal for absolutely perfect shadow detail.
-
The World's first Image Alignment Correction (IAC) circuitry
to fix the image "left-shift" error.
-
The Box1040's cable driver stage also lets you use an analog
output cable of at least up to 30 feet with the HDfury. You no longer need to place the
HDfury near your TV! Perfect for those of you that
already have a long RGBHV cables installed.
Box1040 is plug-n-play with no extra steps required. It can be used for all
standard High-definition TV formats: 1080p, 1080i, 720p. All standard frame
rates are supported in both NTSC and PAL.
As described in our
Greyscale & Colour Calibration for Dummies
guide, gamma boost is critical for achieving perfect
image quality. Videophiles
look for this feature as it is a critical one to
have in order to obtain a proper gamma curve.
Without gamma boost dark details are simply lost:

HOW-TO:
Re-repairing your Xbox360
May
27, 2008
Curt offers an Xbox360
Repair service. It’s pretty common knowledge that the ‘X’ shaped clamps that
hold the heatsinks to the chips cause warping of the PC board. The common cure
is to replace the spring loaded X clamps with bolts to provide more even
pressure between the chip and PC board. We also put the multi-speed fans into
full speed mode which makes the Xbox a bit noisier, but the Xbox runs cooler,
and we also modify the air ducting within the unit to redirect more air over the
video processor chip, that seems to run hotter than the main CPU.
Over time however, the PC board will continue to warp slightly, and the failure
may return after a few hours, weeks or months of game play. Some Xboxes appear
to be permanently repaired and do not fail again after the first repair. We've put together some instructions for fixing the most common re-occurring
problem yourself!

GUIDE: Greyscale & Colour Calibration for Dummies
May
23, 2008
It's finally done! 250 hours, 22,000 words and
nearly 100 photos have gone into the most extensive guide yet aimed at giving
perfect colours to any display!
This guide is for any home theater enthusiast who wants to get the absolute best
picture out of their TV or projector. It will show you how to set perfect
colours on any TV or projector regardless of the technology used (CRT, LCD, DLP, SXRD, LCoS, etc).
No prior knowledge or understanding of colour calibration is required. Even if
you have absolutely no understanding of what CIE, D65, or colorimetry means,
you'll be able to calibrate your display correctly. In fact, you may not even
know what "greyscale calibration" is at all! That's fine! Unlike most of
the other confusing guides out there, we'll tell you exactly what tools you need, where to get
them, and walk you through using them from start to finish.
Read on and learn how and why proper greyscale calibration is regarded as one of
(if not the) most important calibrations anyone should perform on
their TV or projector for optimal picture quality.
Testimonials
"I could not believe how far out my settings were. I've used
calibration discs before and THOUGHT I was close, NOT! ...after going
through the process outlined by Kal it is immensely better and I must say,
the image is so much more realistic it's not even funny." -
ExCavTanker
"... an incredible piece of technical writing." - Greg K.
"Kudos to you Kal for taking this on and putting all the hard work into
it. I've been around computers, cameras, printers and color calibration for
years in the graphic arts field, but for some reason I wasn't too excited to
climb the learning curve all alone - now I don't have to!!! Thanks to you!"
- Steve C.
"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! This is THE defacto article for
setting greyscale for those of us that are not afraid to venture into the
service menu but never knew exactly how all the pieces went together (hardware,
software and the process). I used to say there are two great things from Canada;
hockey and beer, and now I have to add this guide to the list. I'm getting
excited about correcting my greyscale along with the satisfaction of doing it
myself!!!!!" - Derek G.
"You have managed to bring greyscale calibration to the masses... Thank
you very much... I came across your guide a week ago and immediately ordered an
eye-one. I downloaded the ColorHCFR software and loaded it onto my laptop, got
out the tri-pod and the DVE disc and within about an hour had my Z4 calibrated
and learnt a lot about my set-up in the process. Your guide is targeted
precisely at folks like me and I'm very glad you took that approach of assuming
the reader doesn't know the important of greyscale calibration nor any of the
'jargon' used when talking about it. I can't express my appreciation enough!"
- Monomer
"Thank you very much for this guide. I just got done calibrating my
grayscale with my i1 Display LT. My HC3000 DLP projector looks amazing ...
amazing how well it worked. I enjoyed calibrating the display much more than I
would have enjoyed hiring someone to do it for me." - Jedirun
"What a great job you did with this guide. It is so rare to find someone
who actually knows what they are talking about who is also willing to share
their information. Especially with so much detail. I appreciate all of the time
and effort that you spent in putting this together. After having only read
through the first section I was 100% sure that the information you were giving
was accurate and well put together. As a fellow AV professional it is refreshing
to know that there really are others out there who care enough about the
industry to share what they know for the betterment of the business." - Bill

Box1020: Reviews for this HDfury add-on have been pouring in!
May
9, 2008
Owners of older TVs who were unable to use the
HDfury before are now entering the HDMI / Blu-ray digital age thanks to the Box1020!
"Your Box1020 really brought my Mitsubishi WS-55905 back to life! I bought
the TV in 2000 and even though it was the top of the line at the time, it did
not have HDMI. At that time component was the best available and Mitsubishi
advertised that it was designed for the future, upgradeable and that it would
allow buyers to take full advantage of HD technology. Well then came HDMI and
HDCP and my TV became obsolete and because I could not take advantage of
Blu-Ray's upscaling. Of course Mitsubishi did not provide an upgrade path. After
installing HDFury and your Box1020 I can operate at 1080i over HDMI. Even the
regular DVD's look great after being upscaled by my Sony PS3 Blu-Ray player. I
even decided to have my set tuned by Robert Jones of
www.imageperfection.com who went through every
setting, fine tuning convergence, focus and overscan. The television now
outperforms some of the new sets I have seen in local stores. I also wanted to
thank you for your support and advice, you even helped me with some issues that
had nothing to do with your box that were related to my PS3 settings." -
James A.
"Bottom-line, the Box1020 & HDFury is a great combination for any owners
of older Mitsubishi rear projection TVs. I've got my TiVo HD, Xbox 360, and
HD DVD player *cough* all feeding into it now via HDMI." - Roddie
"Our TV is an older Mitsubishi model WS-55819 with component inputs.
The horizontal centering is finally correct and the picture quality is great
running HDfury and Box1020." - Steve & Nancy

Moome has temporarily reduced the price of his Sony
IFB-HD HDMI card by $40 to $395 for the latest batch only. As always, quantities are
limited!

to your Sony CRT projector. It gives you the best image quality possible by
providing a direct digital path from HDMI devices such as Blu-ray players and HD
cable/satellite boxes, as well as support for older
legacy component video devices.
Recent reviews:
"Just bought my THIRD Moome IFB-HD card. I've setup a couple CRT
projector theaters for friends lately. They got interested in having a theater
after watching movies in mine. When they find out the Moome card is what I use
in my theater for HD goodness, they want a Moome card too. I really hope I
NEVER have to live without a Moome IFB-HD. I know there are a lot of options
out there, but for my money the Moome IFB-HD has won 3 separate times. Thanks
again Mr Moome Thumbs-up!" - Ray
"The picture quality is amazing! Way better than the HDFury on my Sony

Definitive CRT Projector Setup Guide
April
28, 2008
Curt humbly presents a guide for first time projector owners to get the most out
of their projector. This guide uses a NEC XG to walk you through the setup of a
CRT projector from start to finish with almost 50 pictures!
Veteran CRT owners might get something out of this too of course!
Feel free to critique like crazy if some steps are missing (quite possible) and
email Curt with comments. While the guide is based on the NEC XG projector the principles can be applied to any CRT projector, entry level or high end, ES
or EM focusing.
