It's important to do the settings in right order, starting with the green tube. You should set green geometry as good as possible.

The correct setup order is:

  1. Centering
  2. Skew
  3. Bow
  4. Linearity
  5. Size
  6. Pin(cushion)
  7. Pin balance
  8. Keystone
  9. Keystone balance (only for green)
  10. Zone (only for red and blue)

You can try and see what each of these adjustments does or look at the Sony manual. After you've set green geometry, it's time to set blue and red, one at the time. Use the same order as listed above. You should be able to get pretty good convergence without zone adjustment which is used only for little tweaks. When adjusting zone use + and - buttons to select next/previous zone. Again, this all is pretty similar to Sony setup. Anyone familiar with setting up a Sony projector should have no trouble setting up a Panasonic 1083/1085.
