Here’s more speakers from a company called Pure Acoustics...

Dynaudio is considered more of an audiophile speaker, and here’s some of their more interesting designs…

For a mere $2500 you can have this monster…


There were many long throw woofers like this at the show that claim high output even in a small box. Talking with a local speaker designer though, as you reduce the size of the cabinet, the efficiency goes down, thus the power input to the speaker must go way up. This is why these speakers need very high power amplifiers to drive them.

From Altec you get a never-ending supply of Ipod and Zune accessories:

I personally own the IM7 (bought as is for $35 off eBay!) and it works really well. Altec actually puts a digital amplifier (read: 90% efficiency) into these portable units now, so battery life is greatly extended. (good luck trying to repair it if it ever dies though). More portable Ipod speaker/amplifiers from a company called THTF. Hmm, these look a lot like the speaker/amps that JBL makes…
