Definitive CRT Projector Setup Guide
Curt humbly presents a guide for first time projector owners to get the most out
of their projector. This guide uses a NEC XG to walk you through the setup of a
CRT projector from start to finish with almost 50 pictures!
Veteran CRT owners might get something out of this too of course!
Feel free to critique like crazy if some steps are missing (quite possible) and
email Curt with comments. While the guide is based on the NEC XG projector the principles can be applied to any CRT projector, entry level or high end, ES
or EM focusing.

GREYSCALE CALIBRATION FOR DUMMIES - We're almost
done!
We're 90% done our biggest and more extensive guide yet!
This guide is for any home theater enthusiast who wants to get the absolute best
picture out of their TV or projector. It will show you how to set perfect
greyscale on any TV or projector regardless of technology (CRT, LCD, DLP, SXRD,
LCOS, etc.).
No prior knowledge or understanding of colour calibration is required. Even if
you have absolutely no understanding of what CIE, D65, or colorimetry means,
you'll be able to calibrate your greyscale correctly. In fact, you may not even
know what "greyscale calibration" is at all! That's fine! Unlike most of
the other guides out there, we'll tell you exactly what tools you need, where to get
them, and walk you through exactly how to use them.
Read on and learn how and why proper greyscale calibration is regarded as one of
(if not the) most important calibration anyone should perform on
their TV or projector for optimal picture quality.

Alan "Moose" Halvorson
Memorial
It is with great sadness that we heard the news that our forum member Alan
Halvorson (Moose) died in is his hometown of Minnesota on April 11, 2008 of a
brain aneurysm while walking his dog "Moose". He was 58 years old.
Alan was a super-nice guy and a positive addition to our little group. Anyone
that ever spoke to Alan (either in person or 'virtually') knew that movies, home
theater, and especially CRT projectors were his passion. He will be missed.
Condolences go our to his friends and family for their loss.
To help Alan's family in this time of need our community has decided to take
up a collection. All funds will be forwarded in the forum's name to Alan's
