September 20, 2004 Here at last is a
new projector list of units and accessories for sale. For those of you new to
the mailing list, welcome! This is a private list not given to others. If you
want off this list, just shoot me a quick email back, and I'll take you of right
away. As always, all pricing is in US dollars.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
1) It looks like I've passed the AOL spammers notice, my Shaw account
managers are no longer harassing me. For those of you AOL customers receiving
this list for the first time, if you want to keep receiving these emails, please
shoot me back an email that has 'Keep me on the mailing list' in the title. If
you want off, just send me back a nasty email, and I'll take you off right
away..
2) A reminder that parts and modules that I send out are LOANER parts, and
unless specifically stated by myself, the defective parts that they replace must
be sent back to me. I repair the old boards and put them back into stock. As new
parts for these projectors are insanely expensive, I must get the old boards
back. I've had many people throw them out, or simply not send them back. This
reduces my loaner stock greatly, and if the trend continues, I will have to
consider simply having people send me boards for repairs. this will slow down
the turnaround.
3) A note to all projector purchasers. SInce the rainy weather s here again,
at least in Vancouver, it is mandatory to let all projectors sit indoors
unwrapped and unplugged for 24 hours to let any moisture evaporate. High voltage
and moisture is NOT a good mix..
PROJECTORS FOR SALE:
1- Sony VPH 722. This is an older entry level video only projector in decent
shape. 500 lumens from 7" Sony tubes. Analog convergence, easy to set up,
convection cooled for zero fan noise. THe tubes are in good shape, and will last
about 8000 hours +. These sets were never driven very hard, so the tubes last
almost forever. Great as a starter unit, and this set will blow away comparably
priced digitals on ebay, or set this one up for the kids to play games on so
they don't wear out the good projector in your theater!.On eBay here:

bit brighter, and it has an S-video input on it. Similar analog convergence to
the Sony above. Two fans produce virtually no noise. Tubes are in good shape. On

5- Sony 10XX series. I've actually got 5 of these, I have not gone through
two of them yet. These sets are excellent beyond-starter sets The 1030 and 1031
sets are identical, 600 lumens, video and RGB inputs, 7" tubes, etc. The only
difference is that the 1030 scans to 32 Khz, good for line doubling, and the
1031 is good to 46 Khz, good for line doubling and HDTV. THe sets' condition are
all mint! No tube wear to speak of, and they throw an excellent image. The cases
are in good shape, minor scratches here and there, nothing serious. I've got
foam lined road cases that I'll send these in, but the cases will need to be
sent back.

4- Ampro 2000. I've got a few more of these sets in, ranging from mint to
ones with light blue 4:3 wear. THese are great little sets, 600 lumens from 7"
Sony tubes, 80 Khz scan rate, video, S-video and RGB inputs. Digital
convergence. Only 10" tall make these great for low ceiling installations. Wired
or wireless remote included, with PC software included as well. Two are on eBay

2 Barco Data 800. I've got two of these workhorses again in good shape., 825
lumens from 8" Sony tubes, 58 Khz scan rate, Video, S-video and RGB inputs. On
screen menus, wireless remotes included, full modular construction for easy
servicing down the road, digital convergence, very easy to set up. Excellent
images out of both of these. The tubes are good for 7000 hours +. I've sold lots
of these with excellent results. I do about 12 component modifications to these
for long term reliability.
$800.00 each.
I've also got one Barco Data 800 that has text wear outside of the 16:9 area.
I've priced this set lower than normal due to this tube wear. Great for a
well-beyond entry level set for people on a budget. You'll get 5000 + hours out
of this set. All mods done as above, the chassis will last well past the tubes.
$500.00
1- Barco Graphics 801s. This is a newer version of the Barco 800. Some
circuit modifications have been done, the basic specs are the same as the 800.
92 Khz scan rate. 825 lumens, the rest of the specs are as the BArco Data 800
above. Great condition tubes, they'll last 8000 hours +. On eBay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5721565511
$1000.00
NEC PG series. I've got a slew of NEC PG series projectors, probably about 15
in all. These range from the original model NEC 6 and 9 PG at 800 lumens with
RGB inputs to the later and slightly improved 6 and 9 PG + models (slightly
higher scan rate) to the newest 6 and 9 Pg Xtra models that had additional focus
and astig adjustments and 1000 lumen tubes. All use the same case style, are
reliable and come with the wireless remote control. I can retube any of the sets
that I have in stock, most are showing some G and B tube wear. I've got a couple
in good original tube shape, others are unusable as is. The point convergence
board, optional on most of these adds 100 points of convergence fine tuning per
color. I've sold out of sets with good original tubes, but I have about 12 sets
in good shape with the exception of the tube that will need to be replaced. They
will be selling for the following pricing:
6 PG set, no wear on the tubes $1600.00
6 PG Xtra- no wear on the tubes. $2400.00
9 Pg Xtra- no wear on the tubes $2800.00
8" EM focus sets. I have a slew of Barco 808 models in of varying types (14
total),, and I've looked at a few so far. All sets have 1200 lumens, video,
S-video and RGB inputs Here's the breakdown:
4 BArco Data 808s. - THese sets use the MEC tubes that are rebuildable at a
reasonable cost. 75 Khz scan rate, good for HDTV and all sources up to and
beyond line quadrupling. These models have the IRIS autoconvergence and
component inputs. Low hours on all of them, all green tubes show a bit of wear
as is normal with the hour count, no need to retube at this point, or add
$600.00 to the price and I'll put a VDC green tube in now at my cost. 2912
hours, 3627 hours, 3090 hours, and 3907 hours. NOte that all of these tubes are
in the same shape regardless of hour count. The 3627 hour one is on eBay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5721807901
(and yes I know, the screen shots of this set look a bit better than the
lower hour set below, that's an indication of my lack of photography skills, the
lower hour set has the green tube in slightly better shape, thus the higher
price)
$2300.00 each
1- BArco Data 808s with only 1906 original hours on the chassis. ON eBay
here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5721802753
$2800.00
2- Barco Graphics 808s. I have two of these with moderate tube wear, sold
cheap as the Graphics 808s sets use expensive non rebuildable tubes. USe the
chassis as spare parts for an existing unit, or use for a few thousand hours now
and retube later. 110 Khz scan rate, component input, IRIS autoconvergence.
$1000.00 each
2- Barco Graphics 808s. Same specs as above, but with the tubes in good
shape. Figure on 7000 hours out of these two.
$2000.00 each
4 more Barco 808 to be listed shortly, untested currently.
2- BArco 1208/2. 135 Khz scan rate. Tubes are in great shape, you'll get 7000
hours + hours of use. MEC tubes Case in decent shape. One is on eBay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5721565824
$2500.00
1- NEc XG 110LC. Very hard to find, this set is the second from the top of
the line in the NEC XGLC series. 110 Khz scan rate, 1200 lumens, video, S-video
and RGB inputs, more adjustments to fine tune the image than you can possibly
imagine.. Superb condition, a new VDC green tube, no wear on the R and B tubes.
you'll get 10,000 hours + out of these tubes. Remote control included. A

ACCESSORIES and OTHER STUFF
I've gotten busy and gone through a bunch of accessories and put them on
eBay. If there's no bids on them, I can close the auction, if there are bids,
then I have to let the auction run its course.
2- Zenith PV 830 projectors. Weak tubes on both of them but fully functional
otherwise. I'll scrap them in a week.. On eBay here:

stock from the original manufacturer. The transistors on these are very hard to
find and are now discontinued, and cause the picture to streak. Buy spares now

2- 15'
1- 20'
2- 25'- one end is bare wire

amplifier, good for PA, subwoofers, DJ's, etc.Good working shape. Came out of a
Vancouver Visitor's center, never on the road.

ITEMS I NEED:
As usual, I'm looking for things..
1) Runco DTV 852 chassis. It can be dead, but it needs to be mostly complete.
I've had a slew of inquiries for repairs on these sets lately, and have sold all
of my working sets.
2) Barco 70X chassis. same thing, I need more parts and test chassis.
3) Barco 1208 CRT neck boards. Looking for 5 or 6 to maintain my parts stock.
I'll be listing more accessories in subsequent lists, and will list more A/V
stuff on ebay as well, I've got to clear out a bunch of stuff here to make way
for more projectors.
Thanks again for your support!
