October 13, 2003 Here is another
list of used projectors for sale. As always, al prices are in US dollars. If you
want off this list, please shoot me back a quick email and I'll take you off
right away.
I have received a number of new projectors in this week, and expect another
30 or so in within the next 2 weeks in time for the next list. Most of the
upcoming ones will be Ampro 2000's, but others are on the way as well.
1- Sony 1031. A great little starter projector that will scan to 36 Khz, good
for line doublers and HDTV. Also accepts a video input. Analog convergence.
Small size, good condition tubes Great as a starter projector or for the kids
video games so that Dad's main projector isn't used
$500.00
Ampro 2000's. Got a few of these little units in, the unit is only 10" tall,
great for those low ceilings. 600 or 750 lumens depending on which tubes are
installed (SD-187 tubes on the older units, 07MS tubes on the newer ones), 80
Khz scan rate allow the projector to accept up to line quadruplers or 1280 X
1024 (but these 7" tubes run best with line triplers or 1024 X 768). Quiet
operation, modular construction. Video, S-video and RGB inputs. Digital
convergence, full manual included. Intuitive set up and a well written manual
make these great as a first projector.
I will include a wireless remote with each unit. Note however that the
initial set up is best done with the original wired remote. I will therefore
include a wired remote initially for a $150.00 deposit, and refund the deposit
once the wired remote is returned. Tweaking can easily be done with the wireless
remote once the projector is set up.
All cases have some marks and scratches on them except for # 1 that is in
good condition. These cases do take paint easily and will clean up nicely.
# 1- brighter 07MS tubes, light green wear, good for 7500 hours $700.00
# 2- light blue wear, 07MS tubes, good for 7500 hours $700.00
# 3 Sine blue wear, good for about 6000 hours, SD 187 tubes $550.00
# 4- SD-187 tubes, a Windows task bar is worn into the extreme top of the G
and B tubes. If used in 16:9 format, the wear area will not be seen, and the
rest of the tube surface is perfect IT wear area can also be worked around in
4:3 mode. $600.00
Lots more Ampro projectors to come shortly.
3- Sony 1272. I have not had 1272's in for a while, these three came from a
local university. 92 Khz scan rate, digital convergence, on screen menus, very
easy to set up. Video, S-video and RGB inputs. Cases in very good shape. Some
blue wear, the tubes will last at least 5000 hours. THe wear area covers a large
portion of the tube, so setting up within this wear area will be easy. The
1272's use the brighter 07MSP tubes for 750 lumens, and the focus on these tubes
is still excellent. c/w ceiling mount and a pre-programmed universal remote, the
original Sony remotes are $100.00 extra.
$1000.00 each.
2 NEC 9 PG projectors. A step up from the Sony 1272's above, these are EM
focus sets that scan to 94 Khz. 800 lumens from 7 1/2" tubes, these sets are
equipped with the optional Video/S-video input card as well as the $1200.00
(new) point convergencecard that allows extreme fine tuning of each CRT. Both of
these sets have low hours on them, one has 1607 hours, the other has 2565 hours.
Many of you know that NEC's are my personal favourite projector for fleshtones.
c/w wireless remote.
1607 hour set $1800.00
2565 hour set $1700.00
1 Barco G 808. This is a high end 8" EM focus set with 1200 lumens and 110
Khz scan rate. Video, S-video and RGB inputs, digital convergence and on screen
menus make this a very easy set to set up. 100% modular construction make
servicing a snap. I sell lots of BArco 808's a year. This one has very minor 4:3
wear on the G and B tubes, consistent with about 3000 hours of use. The red has
no wear. Very simple to set up the image within the wear area. Chances are
you'll never need to retube this set. c/w wireless remote.
$2200.00
2 Ampro 3600's. Similar in performance to the Barco G 808 above, it's been a
while since I've had a couple of these in stock. 1200 lumens from 8" EM focus
tubes, Video. S-video and RGB inputs. More control over the CRT's than the
BArco, you can really dial this set in with gamma adjustments, sub contrast,
brightness, etc. 90 Khz scan rate make this useable above line quadrupling.
Fleshtones similar to the NEC or Marquee sets. One set has light green wear and
none on the R and B, the other has a bit more green wear, and just a hint on the
R and B that is not visible in the picture. I have lots of parts for these
Ampros in stock, no problem supporting these sets. As with the 2000's above, I
will ship these with a wired remote, and you'll get the $150.00 refund when you
return it. Wireless remote is included in the price.
Light green wear, good for 7500 hours $ 1800.00
Moderate green wear, good for 5500 hours $ 1600.00
2 NEC XG projectors. The NEC XG is what I use in my own theater. Both of
these projectors have had the G and B tubes replaced with original NEC tubes, no
wear on the reds. 1200 lumens from 8" EM focus tubes, the XG 85 scans to 85 Khz,
the 135 to 135 Khz. No difference in the basic picture, the XG 85 accepts
component inputs directly, the 135 does not. Digital convergence, 100 point
convergence per color. a small projector considering they have 8" tubes. Video,
S-video and RGB inputs. A superb picture out of these sets. Wireless original
remote included.
$3500.00 each.
1- Electrohome Marquee 9500LC. I have one more of these sets in from the same
place that I got the previous ones from. 1300 lumens from 9" EM focus tubes, 135
Khz scan rate, video. S-video and RGB inputs. Still a current model, these sets
now sell for as much as $55K USD. Excellent resolutions, an easy and
comprehensive set up with very intuitive menus. Very light wear on the green,
barely noticeable on the screen, these tubes will last at least 8000 hours. c/w
wireless remote.
$5500.00 USD.
Miscellaneous
5-Sony 1271 switchers. These are really nice older Video/S-video and RGB 8
input switcher. c/w one RGB card, other cards are available on eBay. Selling
these cheap at $50.00 each.
I also have five umbilical cables that connect the 1271 switcher to the
projector without running extra cables between the two. These cables are very
hard to find, I have three 30' and two 6' cables.
30' cables $75.00
6' cables $50.00

Note that due to the sheer volume of emails (approaching 100 a day), I'm
having a hard time keeping current with my emails. I will always answer every
email, and priority will be given to ones concerning projectors that have been
purchased from me, second in priority will be repair and parts questions. It
will take longer for me to answer emails concerning projectors not purchased
from me, sorry! I will also be out of town on installations off and on between
now and the end of November, so if I don't get back to you right away, I will
answer your emails. I got caught up to date this past Saturday night, now I'm 30
emails behind again...
I do appreciate your business and support, but with CRT technicians being
impossible to find in Vancouver, I have to answer all of the technical stuff
myself.
Thanks!
