Once again I have been busy these last two weeks
trying to get more projectors repaired. Most of what I got in this last
week were scrap units; Barcos that had the crucial modules missing,
burnt tubes, etc. But I have a couple of new additions this week.
For those of you new to the mailing list and new to CRT projectors in
general, please check out the following two websites:
www.avsforum.com
www.projectorspecs.com
I think you'll find both websites informative, and both companies
running the websites are trustworthy and honest.
As usual, prices are in US dollars, excluding shipping. Ground shipping
with a crate to most destinations in North America are about $250.00
USD; air shipping is about $325.00.
Unless noted, I expect the below projectors to last you at least 5000
hours. This is based generally on the condition of the tubes and the
reliability of the chassis. I test run all sets a minimum of 24 hours to
ensure long term reliability.
Feel free to email if you have any questions.
Video Grade Projectors.
The below projectors accept a video feed only. They are good starter
projectors but are not upgradeable to HDTV, line doublers, triplers,
etc.
2- Zenith/Runco PRO 851 video projectors. 600 lumens, (750 if you
believe Runco), video input, analog convergence, wireless remote
included, good condition tubes. These are the popular projectors found
in many sports bars, which is where these came from. Great picture.
Convection cooled for silent operation.
$700.00 each
Note: I have a full set of new tubes in for these two units. I can
install new tubes in either unit, bringing the picture to as-new
operation.
$1500.00 for either set.
DATA GRADE PROJECTORS.
1- Barco Data 600. An older analog convergence 7" video projector, this
one is in great shape. No wear on the tubes, and the cooling fluid level
is topped right up, indicating minimal use of this set. 600 lumens, 7"
Sony tubes, 64 Khz scan rate makes it compatible with HDTV, line
doublers, triplers and quads, etc. Currently listed on eBay, I am
including an RCVDS 4 Barco video switcher with video/SA-video and RGB
inputs, all cables, and the instruction book.
$650.00
1- Electrohome ECP 3000. A great working condition entry level data
grade projector. 7" Sony tubes, 550 lumens, 55 Khz scan rate. Video and
RGB inputs. Digital convergence, on screen menus, instruction manuals
included. Great little projector.
$700.00
1- Electrohome ECP 3100 Late model (1994) of a good entry level Data
Grade projector. 650 lumens, 55 Khz scan rate makes it compatible with
HDTV, line doublers, triplers, and HTPC's. Video, S-video and RGB
inputs. Small footprint. Late model Sony 7" 07MS tubes for a sharper and
brighter picture than the earlier model ECP's. Digital convergence, on
screen menus. Pictured below. The focus modification has been done,
curing the drifting focus common to these models permanently.
Instruction books and manuals included.
$800.00

1- Sony 1270. 650 lumens, 75 Khz scan rate, 8" Sony tubes. Good
condition case, flawless operation. Video, S-video and RGB inputs.
Digital convergence, on screen menus. A great mid-grade projector. Two
ways to buy this projector. Currently I have a good condition blue tube
in it that will be great for 16:9 operation only. It has a wear pattern
on it that looks like a Windows taskbar that runs along the bottom of a
4:3 picture If you plan on using this only for 16:9, the picture will
not use that portion of the tube, and the picture will thus be flawless.
I have a god condition blue tube currently in another 1270 that I can
put into the set for 4:3 operation.
$900.00- 16:9 tube
$1100.00- good blue tube
1- Sony 1270. Identical to the above set with good tubes, this set is
currently located in Toronto.
I sold it about 3 months ago to a customer that cannot use it for his
current needs so I am happy to help sell it for him. The set is in great
shape. If you're located in the Detroit or Ontario areas, save on some
shipping. The customer is more than happy to demo the projector for you
or send you screen shots. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll
forward his email address.
2- Barco Graphics 800. One of my most popular sellers, I have two of
these currently, with a third projector pending. One of the current ones
has good tubes in a moderately high hour chassis. 92 Khz scan rate, 825
lumens, 8" Sony tubes. Digital convergence, on screen menus, great
picture. Video, S-video and RGB inputs.
$1200.00
The other set has 175 hours on the chassis. The hour counter is working,
and I was trying to see if there was any suspicion that the hour counter
had been reset, but the chassis is clean, so I am assuming that this is
the original hour count. Unfortunately, the set had a failure that
destroyed the red and green tubes, but I have put low hour replacement
tubes into it. The blue is flawless, and the red and green have no
visible wear. Great picture, very sharp focus, one of the better G 800's
I've had in in a long while.
The case has some adhesive tape residue on it, but it's not hard to
clean this off.
$1500.00
1- Barco G 808. One left. 13,600 hours on the chassis, but low wear on
the tubes, I suspect that the set has been left in the standby mode for
most of these hours, resulting in an increased hour count, but no wear
on the tubes. 8" Sony tubes, 1000 lumens, 110 Khz scan rate. Digital
convergence, lots of on screen menus, video, S-video and RGB inputs. A
top of the line set, with the optional IRIS auto-convergence built in.
$2200.00
UPCOMING PROJECTORS:
I am STILL waiting for NEC and Electrohome Marquee tubes for my Marquee
8000 and NEC 6 and 9 PG and XG projectors. I hopefully will have an
update by the time my next email comes out. As soon as the tubes come
in, the sets will be out the door. Sorry, the 9 PG and the XG's are
spoken for. I do not have any more XG's coming in at this time, but you
never know what the government is getting rid of tomorrow.. :)
I should have a lot more projectors in within a week or two. I have 18
high end Barcos on the way, including 808, 1208, 1200, 1209's, etc. Some
of these will be parts sets as they have been stripped, but some should
be functional. Please keep an eye out in future lists as I will list out
the working units and parts that I will have available for these hard to
find sets. Also on the way are some 9" NEC's (GP-5000), 9" Ampros, and
more of the regular Sony 12XX, Barco 800, etc.
Parts:
I am very slowly going through my large stock of defective modules that
I have collected over the last 2 years. I currently have tested and have
available all modules for the Barco 600 with the exception of the
vertical board, and am now working on Barco 800 modules. I have
multiples of all boards except for power supplies and the HV board. In
fact, if anyone has spare Barco 800 power supplies and HV modules, I'd
like to buy a couple or swap for something that I have. I am also going
through my stock of Electrohome ECP modules. I should have multiples of
each one with the exception of the HV and LV power supplies, that are
impossible to find. I will be listing these shortly.
CRT's
I have been collecting some flawed 8" Sony 07MP tubes. These are in good
shape with the exception of pinhole burns in the dead centre of the
tubes. This is caused by a defective power supply which kills the tubes.
I cannot use these tubes in sets I sell, and have enough 'test' tubes,
so if anyone has a weak or dead tube in their Sony 12XX or Barco 800'801
set, you might be better off with one with a pinhole burn in the centre
tan the one you currently have.
I have about 3 greens and 3 reds, no blues, sorry!
$75.00 each plus shipping, cheap and as-is! I can send pictures of the
burn spot prior to shipping.
2- RCVDS 800 switchers. Good condition, to be used as a video switcher
in conjunction with a Barco 80X projector.
$150.00 each
ODDBALL STUFF:
4- IRIS auto convergence units for the Barco 1208. Untested but assumed
to be working , with a money back guarantee (less shipping).
$350.00 each
2- Altec 416-8B 15" speaker drivers. One needs a recone, one has been
reconed recently. Came out of an ice arena we redid a few weeks ago.
$125.00/pr.
Note: I will be spending Monday returning old emails and assembling
parts orders. I will start on Weds returning emails re any inquiries to
this mailing list. thanks for your support as always!
Lastly, I could use a good condition red 07MP 8" tube. Anyone got one
they can sell me or trade me for something?
Cheers!
