Here again is the bi-monthly list of used CRT projectors for sale. As always, all prices are in US dollars. If you want off this list, please send me a quick email and I'll take you off right away.

A reminder to all of the new people on this list, I now have a website, www.curtpalme.com It currently contains my FAQ and contact information, and will be updated to list the new projectors that I get in. I will still be sending out these mailing lists every two weeks, and I will slowly start to develop the website as time allows to be more of a service type website that will concentrate on dialing in and troubleshooting projectors (as well as my projectors and parts for sale). I hope to start actively working on the site in the next two weeks.

Onto the list!:

2 Panasonic PT-101Y projectors. These are great little entry level sets. Video only, 600 lumens, video and S-video inputs. Analog convergence, reliable and small and quiet. This set is a great way to get into the CRT HT habit to see if you get bitten by the 'bug' without spending a small fortune. These tubes are not driven hard, so they'll last many thousands of hours. Not HDTV compatible, but you'll get a good little video only set for the price. On eBay here:

$400.00

1- Barco Vision 700. I have not had one of these sets in for a while. This is a very compact projector, and is an older version of what Runco based their DTV 947 on. 600 lumens from 7" Sony tube, video, S-video and RGB inputs. This is a very small and quiet unit, and it throws a great image from Sony 7" tubes, Digital convergence and on screen menus, very similar in set up to the BArco 800 series. THe set scans to 36 Khz, which allows for line doubler and HDTV. The case is in good shape, note that the door over the controls is black, so you might want to paint it white, or paint the whole case to suit, it takes paint easily. Wireless remote included. On eBay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15079&item=5701538461

$800.00

2 Ampro 2000. I've got two of these sets once again. Both are in good condition, one has only 360 hours on it, the other has somewhat higher, but the hour meter glitched, so I do not have an accurate count. Video, S-video and RGB inputs, digital convergence, wireless remote and a computer interface cable are included for an easy alignment. 80 Khz scan rate makes this set good for beyond line quadrupling and all HDTV resolutions. The 360 hour set has the later model 07MS 750 lumen tubes installed, the other has the newer tubes installed for the R and B, the green is the older style. Both sets have excellent color balance. Low profile (10") make these sets great for low ceilings. 100% modular construction are easy to service, and I stock lots of AmPRo parts. The 360 hour unit is on ebay here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5701564796

$750.00

The other Ampro is $600.00

4 Barco Data/Graphics 800 projectors. I finally have more of these workhorses. All are in good condition, and the tubes focus really well. Both versions of these sets have video, S-video and RGB inputs, on screen menus, digital convergence, 825 lumens from Sony 8" tubes. The Data sets scan to 58 Khz which is perfect for beyond HD and line tripling, the Graphics sets have the extra Scheimpflug adjustments for corner focusing and scan to 92 Khz., For a typical home theater, you won't see a difference between the two sets, for computer use you might see a tiny but of improvement in the corners with the graphics version. All of these sets have the video and power supply upgrades done, mandatory for long life on these sets. The tubes on all are in good condition, and you'll get at least 7000 hours use out of them. Wireless remote included. I've got the Graphics listed on ebay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700733445

$950.00

The Data versions are $850.00 each.

4- Runco DTV 852's. Don't discount these deluxe versions of the Zenith PRO 900's. Runco installed a line doubler right into these sets, so all video and S-video signals are line doubled. There is also a set of RGB inputs for feeding an HDTV box directly into the set. 50 Khz scan rate allow you to upgrade to a line tripler if desired, or the sets will also display SVGA computer signals. 800 lumens from 7" tubes. 100% modular construction as per the Zenith design. White or black models available. I've retubed some of these sets, others have a bit of green wear, priced accordingly. A very small footprint for these sets, very quiet operation, and a shorter throw distance make this set ideal for smaller rooms or for rear projection. I've sold lots of these. These sets are on ebay here:

NEC PG projectors. I've got a couple of these NEC PG sets in stock right now in good shape, with several more to come. The PG sets are excellent 7 1/2" EM focus sets, that throw a great image from a small cabinet. All have 800 lumens, on screen menus, wireless remote controls, and scan to a minimum of 60 Khz. The 9 PG's scan to 90 Khz. All came with RGB inputs, the video and S-video card were an option on some, as was the point convergence board that allowed fro minute fine tuning of the convergence. Runco used these for years as their flagship CRT unit, and sold them for thousands more. The two units that I currently have are as follows:

1 NEC 9 PG. 90 Khz scan rate, video and point convergence boards included. Tubes in good shape with a bit of wear, but you'll still get 5000 hour + out of them. On eBay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700735828

$1200.00

1- NEC 9 PG +. Video and point convergence board included, zero wear on the tubes. ON eBay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700734800

$1800.00

1- Ampro 2300. Here is a really interesting projector that you don't find often. A 7" EM focus projector! Equivalent roughly to the NEC PG Xtra, this set produces 800 lumens with an 80 Khz scan rate. Video, S-video and RGB inputs. IN excellent condition, the tubes should last about 9000 hours. Razor sharp image due to the EM focus tubes. A bit larger than the Ampro 2000, but still in a low profile case. Easy to set up, digital convergence, quiet operation. On eBay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700733445

$1400.00

1- Sony D 50. This set has VDC blue and green tubes installed, the red is original with no wear. 800 lumens from 7" Sony tubes, 64 Khz scan rate make this set compatible with up to line quadruplers. Video, S-video, RGB and component inputs make connections to almost every type of signal possible. A very small footprint, low noise and a reliable chassis. I have now scrapped one of these sets, so I have spare parts for those of you that might need them. On eBay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700736456

$2500.00

Note that I also have a perfectly working D 50 that needs to have all three tubes replaced. Do it yourself, or buy this set for the hard to find spare parts that you might need one day $900.00.

2- Electrohome Marquee 8000. Here's two good condition sets with toasted tubes I'm listing these for someone that wants a backup set for one that they already have. Everything works fine with both of these sets, but as I said, the tubes are burnt. 1000 lumens from 8" tubes, 135 Khz scan rate, video, S-video and RGB inputs. Digital convergence, on screen menus. Reliable operation, I've sold lots of these. c/w wireless remote control. Use for parts, or retube yourself at a cost of $550.00 USD per tube from VDC.

$800.00 each

1- NEC 6 Pg Xtra. The best of the lot out of the 6 that I[ve gotten in recently, this one does not need retubing, the rest do. One step down from the NEC XG series, this set features 1000 lumens from NEC EM focus tubes. RGB input accepts signals from line doublers, triplers and quads, etc, up to 64 Khz scan rate. One of my favorite sets to sell due to the excellent image that it gives out. Very light wear on the green tube, excellent condition R and B tubes. you'll get 7000 hours or more out of these tubes. Digital convergence, on screen menus, wireless remote included. I'll be retubing the other 5 sets shortly, at somewhat higher prices than this one.

$2000.00

2- BArco Data 808 and 808s. This is a set that I got in that has had all tubes replaced with VDC ones about 100 hours ago. Excellent overall condition, no wear on the tubes. 1200 lumens from 8" EM focus tubes, 75 Khz scan rate, video, S-video and RGB inputs, on screen menus, digital convergence, very quiet operation. 100 % modular construction. THe case is in nice shape as well. The 808s set comes with the handy IRIS auto convergence camera which makes the set up virtually automatic and simple. On eBay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700733939

$3200.00

The Barco 808 is $2800.00

2- Barco 1208/2. I've got two of these high end Barco sets in. 1200 lumens from 8" EM focus tubes, these use the rebuildable MEC tubes. 135 Khz scan rate for high resolution. Video, S-video and RGB inputs. 100 % modular construction for easy servicing like all Barcos are. Digital convergence for easy set up, focus and astig adjustments. One set has all original tubes in good shape, and the case is scuffed, so it needs a paint job. The other has been retubed and has a warranty on all three tubes and has a good case on it. Very quiet operation out of these sets. One is here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700733671

$2300.00

The other retubed one is here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700733776

$3600.00

2- Electrohome Marquee 8500. I've got two of these in right now. This is the current top of the line Electrohome 8" EM focus set. 135 Khz scan rate, Video, S-video and RGB inputs, with a secondary RGB input available. 1200 lumens, on screen menus, lots of focus, astig and other parameters for a perfect image. Both sets are in excellent condition, one has all original tubes, the other has new G and B tubes with no wear on the red. I've done the anamorphic squeeze mod to both along with the power supply mod that is mandatory for long tube life. The cases are in excellent condition as well, no major scrapes and scratches. The original tubed one is on ebay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700734362

$3200.00

The retubed one is $3800.00 with a 1 year warranty on all tubes.

1- Sony G 70. It's been a while since I've had one of these in. This is the top of the line 8" EM focus Sony set with 1200 lumens, 135 Khz scan rate, video, S-video, RGB and component inputs on it. Liquid coupled tubes with color correction for a precise image. the focus is excellent on this set! Digital convergence, quiet operation, many points of convergence per color, Sony really did a good job in giving the set almost every adjustment conceivable. The red and blue tubes have zero wear, the green is arebuilt one from VDC with a 1 year warranty on it.\ THis set is flawless in operation and set up, the case has some scratches on it, so you might want to paint it to suit. On eBay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32862&item=5700736580

$3900.00

1- Sony 1292. As usual, I've saved the best for last. I have not had a Sony 1292 9" set in for about 2 years. 9" EM focus tubes, 1000 lumens, 135 Khz scan rate, on screen menus, digital convergence, video, S-video and RGB inputs. Very large and heavy, this set has super sharp focus, and will resolve 2500 X 2000 resolution. Note that this set is quite noisy, it has 14 fans in it.. Very reliable operation from this unit. Lots of on screen menus, I'll include the hard to find original Sony remote. The best part? This set has 00385 hours on it. Yes, only 385 chassis and tube hours. This set is as good as new. no wear on the tubes, and you'll get well in excess of 10,000 hours out of it. I will be posting the set on eBay at some point in time but everyone on this list gets first dibs before it's released to the masses.

Misc stuff.

I've just repaired a pro audio BGW 500C amplifier. 200 watts RMS per channel, this amp is in great shape, as it was installed in a visitor center here in Vancouver, and never saw road use. USe as a subwoofer amplifier, or for pro PA applications. Chrome front and rack mountable, this is heavy brute! No lightweight amp here!

$200.00

I've got 3 NEC XGLC green tubes with minimal wear on them. THese came out of 1800 to 3000 hour sets, and all show very light wear. $200.00 USD each, email me for pictures of the phosphor.

As usual, I'm looking for some parts:

1- good condition BArco 808s or 1208s green tube. This is the Sony tube I'm looking for.
