Well, finally as promised, here is another
projector list. Not too many new units here, but there should be on the
next list in 2 weeks. As usual, all prices are in US dollars. If you
want off this list, just shoot me an email and I'll take you off right
away.
Note that I have just bought a house, and I will take possession of it
on Sept 1. Then comes 6 weeks of wiring for sound, security, data
cabling, and of course a home theater or two...
The reason I mention this is that I will be needing some things and
services that I would be willing to swap projectors for. These include:
-furniture
-a new deck (the current vinyl one is worn out)
-house painting
-building of a shop and of course moving labour!
If you are close by in or around Vancouver, or have access to supplies
that can be drop shipped, I want to talk to you.. :)
In preparation for moving, I will be selling as many projectors as I can
in the next 60 days, at some very attractive pricing. Once I am set up
in the new house, it's business as usual
Just a few notes to explain to those newcomers to this list how I sell
and recondition projectors.
1) Unless stated that the projector is retubed or sold as is, I would
expect you to get a minimum of 5000 good useable hours out of the tubes
in a set that I sell. This is usually a conservative estimate, as I
would rather have you be pleasantly surprised than ticked off.. :)
Retubed sets should last about 10,000 hours, the new life of a tube, but
of course the costs on a retubed set are higher.
2) I test all projectors that I sell for a minimum of 20 hours before
shipping them. It's amazing how many intermittent problems can be
flushed out with a continual overnight run. I check for good color
balance, focus and overall picture.
3) On most projectors, I will make some modifications to replace common
faults that are known about. For example, all Electrohome ECP sets have
the focus resistor changed and replaced with a higher grade unit, as
these resistors are known to fail and/or drift. Barcos get a power
supply overhaul, NEC PG's get the convergence chips replaced, etc, etc.
This may add a bit to the price of the set, but ensures longevity of the
projector.
Onto the list!
1- Zenith PRO 851 video projector. This one came out of a bar and has
been retubed and is excellent for restaurant, bar or pub use. Very
popular and reliable, this is an analog video only projector and has 650
lumens output outof 7" tubes. Wireless remote included, as well as a
ceiling mount.
$750.00- good used tubes
$1500.00- 3 new tubes with a 1 year warranty
1- Electrohome ECP 3000. One of the older versions of this popular
projector, it has 750 lumens, 55 Khz scan rate and has 2 video and 2 RGB
inputs. Ceiling bracket included, instruction book and wireless remote
comes with it as well. Newly installed Sony 07MS tubes with better
focusing and more light output than the original tubes. A great picture
with digital convergence and on screen menus. The tubes are in excellent
shape with no wear that I can see. The case has been painted black, and
could use a touch-up due to some minor scrapes where you can see the
original cream color of the case.
$700.00
1- Electrohome ECP 4100 A newer version of the 3000, this one has SD-187
tubes rated at 650 lumens, and scans to 80 Khz, which makes it suitable
for line quadrupling. 2 video and 1 RGB input. Case in nice shape. Tubes
in good shape.
$700.00
1- Ampro 2000G. 650 lumens, 80 Khz scan rate, video and RGB inputs. A
good little projector, digital convergence, on screen menus, very slim
for low ceilings, tubes in good shape. These projectors can be
controlled via a serial cable and a small program that I will email to
you. This is for the convergence and set up of the projector. You may
also buy a wired remote control made by Ampro for an extra $250.00. I
have used the set up program with my laptop, and it works well. No need
to buy the remote if you're familiar with connecting serial cables.
$550.00 without the remote, $800.00 with.
1- NEC GP-5000. This is a true 9" CRT projector with 650 lumens,
wireless remote, digital convergence and 75 Khz scan rate. Video,
S-video and RGB inputs, this projector gives a nice picture if you spend
the time to set it up properly. I have the full manual that will come
with the unit. This is an older 9" projector, thus the relatively
unexpectedly low 650 lumens, but even at full brightness, these tubes
are not being pushed hard, and it gives a nice picture with visibly
better resolution over comparably speced 7" or 8" units. I also have a
ceiling bracket that I will throw into the deal.
$1500.00
1- NEC 9 PG. This has been my personal projector for the last 3 months.
A low hour count on the chassis and tubes, about 1600 hours until my son
accidentally reset the hour meter 37 hours ago. Tubes in good shape, and
the chassis is flawless. RGB input only, optional point convergence
board is installed, wireless remote and ceiling bracket included, 800
lumens, 7 1/2" EM focus tubes, 90 Khz scan rate, compatible with all
formats of HDTV. Stunning fleshtones (NEC's are my personal favorite),
and a very reliable chassis in general.
$2200.00
1- NEC XG 852. 1200 lumens, 8" EM focus tubes, 85 Khz scan rate. New B
and G tubes, original red with no wear, so these tubes should last the
full 10,000 hours. Wireless remote and ceiling bracket included. This is
a later model XG that has Video and S-video inputs, and a dual purpose
RGB and component input card; relatively hard to find on a CRT
projector. Anyone that has seen these XG models knows the incredible
picture that these give. Digital convergence with many adjustment
parameters, on screen menus, and a super reliable chassis. Superb colors
and depth of the picture. While this XG 852 scans to 85 Khz, it uses the
same tubes and same basic chassis as the XG 110 and XG 135, and in my
opinion you'll never use over 64 Khz scan rate (line quadrupling), so
save some money and grab this 852!
$3900.00
2- Electrohome Marquee 8500. Excellent condition 8" EM focus projectors
with new B and G tubes and no wear on the reds. 1200 lumens, Video,
S-video and RGB inputs, 135 Khz scan rate compatible with virtually any
video source, digital convergence, on screen menus and a really nice
picture. A quiet chassis and relatively compact. Easy to set up, and the
full manual is included. Making a ceiling bracket for these is really
easy. A great buy at $3800.00 each.
1- Barco 1208. 135 Khz scan rate, 1200 lumens, Very similar to the
Electrohome 8500 series, but a slightly warmer picture in my opinion.
98% modular construction makes future servicing very easy via email and
board swapping. 8" EM focus tubes, new B and G and a great condition red
with no wear. Power supply mods have been done, and the projector is
currently being test run. Very easy set up with on screen menus and step
by step alignment procedures.Good condition case, wireless remote
included. Video, S-video and RGB inputs.
$3900.00
