Here again is another large list of projectors
and assorted equipment for sale. As always, prices are in US dollars. If
you want off this list, just shoot me a quick email, and I'll take you
off right away.
Not too many additions to the list this week, as I have been busy
repairing PC boards sent to me and reducing the email list in my inbox
from 250 to under 150. I've been successful.. :)
Note that I will be out of town this upcoming week from Tuesday to
Sunday. I will not have access to my email or the internet, and will be
away from my cellphone for most of the week. I will try and clean up the
last remaining few issues on my 'to do' list before I leave. If you are
interested in any of these projectors, feel free to email back, I will
answer them in the order that I receive them.
Onto the list!
REFURBISHED PROJECTORS
1- Runco 750HT. This is the popular video only model projector found in
many home theaters and sports bars. This one came out of a local home
theater, and is in mint condition. Original manual, mount, remote and
ceiling bracket included. 750 lumens from 7" tubes, zero wear, analog
convergence, on screen menus. Convection cooled for silent operation.
$1000.00
1- ECP 3100. A good little projector using 7" Sony tubes, 600 lumens,
video and dual RGB inputs. Tubes are in good shape, and will last about
8000 hours. Digital convergence, on screen menus, a nice compact set.
The focus modification has been done to this set. Easy to set up, c/w
wireless remote control.
$750.00
1- Barco Data 701. This is a nice little projector with around 3600
hours on it. a small projector with 7" Sony tubes with 600 lumens light
output, it has video, S-video and RGB inputs. Digital convergence, 36
Khz scan rate, on screen menus/ c/w wireless remote Tubes are in good
shape, these sets are quite small and very quiet.
$1200.00
Marquee 8500. This is a high end 8" EM focus projector featuring 1200
lumens from MEC tubes. I have a number of these with relatively low hour
counts, ranging from 2500 to about 6000. All have digital convergence,
on screen menus, modular construction and RGB inputs. I have a few video
and S-video boards in stock if someone needs these, but these sets
really need a minimum of a line doubler (or tripler or quad) hooked to
them for best performance. 135 Khz scan rate make these sets perfect for
almost any video source including all formats of HDTV.
I have several of these in stock. Hour counts vary as does the tube
condition. I have 2 sets with 4:3 wear on the G and B tubes, useable as
is for about 5000 hours.
$2200.00 each
I can retube either of these sets with new G and B tubes, original reds
with no wear at $3800.00 total per set. a 1 year warranty comes with any
VDC tube.
NEC XG. I have several of these XG's available again. Many of you know
that the XG are my personal favorite 8" set. The Barco 808 and Marquee
series come very close, and when you're comparing apples to apples, it
come down to personal preference, but I love these sets! I spent some
time with Guy Kuo this weekend, who is an NEC expert when it comes to
set up of these units. I learned several new set up tricks not covered
in the service manual from him, and will apply these techniques to any
of the NEC projectors that I sell from now on.
All have video, S-video and RGB inputs, several models have component
input. The digits in the model number indicate the maximum scan rate,
i.e. the XG 75 scans to 75 Khz, the XG 135 to 135 Khz, etc. All sets
have digital convergence, 1200 lumens, on screen menus, 100 zones of
point convergence per tube fro super accurate alignment, the sets are
compact and relatively quiet. I personally use an XG 75 with 2300 hours
on it with a line tripler.
All units come with a wireless original NEC set up remote. I have a
limited number of ceiling brackets available that are original NEC's as
well. All of the cases on these XG's are very nice, minimal marks or
scratches. On all of these XG's with the exception of the XG 75, these
have large uniform LIGHT wear, and it's no problem setting up a new
image and installation around this minor wear. Aggressively priced, I
have too many of these.. :)
I'll list these projectors in the condition that they are in, and what
the retubed price will be. I have ordered 10 new NEC XG tubes which
should be here next week, so I will have a lot of retubed XG and PG Xtra
sets ready to go in about 2 weeks.
1- XG 75. 2300 hours, light wear on the green tube, a tiny hint on the
blue, but you won't see it. The wear pattern on this set is very small
as it was originally installed too far back from the screen, so for
proper viewing, the green tube should be replaced. I never changed it as
I used the projector to show customers what tube wear looks like.
$2000.00 as is, $2800.00 with a new green tube, $3500.00 with new G and
B tubes.
1- XG 852. This set has a new NEC green tube installed, and has no wear
on the R and B tubes. This is the latest revision of the XG software,
and the set can accept component inputs. On eBay here:
$3650.00
3 XG 110's.
# 1- light B an G wear, no need to change now, 2977 hours total $3000.00
# 2- 2770 hours, very light G wear, good R and B $3300.00
# 3- 1700 tube hours total, new green and blue , perfect $3800.00
1- XG 110 LC. 4421 hours, light G and B wear, perfect red $3500.00
1- XG 135LC
5414 hours, light B and G wear $3200.00
5 Marquee 9500LC. Here are five more late model top of the line 9" EM
focus Electrohome 9500LC projectors. I received four of these in this
week. All were made in late from 1997 to 1999, and were left on 24 hours
a day, resulting in high chassis hours. As many of you know, this is not
a problem for the sets, as they are designed to last 50-75K hours, and
without the constant on/off switching of the units, they've always been
run at operating temperature, which in my opinion actually extends the
chassis life. These sets chassis hours are between 25K to 33K hours.
All of these sets are rated at 1300 lumens, 135 Khz bandwidth, 9" EM
liquid coupled tubes, on screen menus, digital convergence, a very
extensive and comprehensive set up procedure (but easy to follow!). Each
comes with an RGB input, and I have secondary RGB and video/S-video
input modules available at a nominal cost.
I've gone through these sets fully and tested them and done the
anamprohic squeeze modification. I can't say enough about the sharpness
and resolution of these Marquee 9" sets, they truly are a cut above..
All of the cases on these units have scratches and dents in them. I'm
listing these sets as low as possible; I have access to better case
sides and tops, listed separately as are the ACONs and optional input
boards. I've done the anamorphic squeeze modification to all of these
sets, and run them for 24 hours. They are flawless electronically! Each
of these sets come with a manual (downloadable) and a wireless remote
and power cord.
I currently have several 9500LC tubes at VDC or rebuilding, they will be
here within 2 weeks, so a retubed set will be possible to buy shortly.
# 1- uniform wear on all three tubes. Useable as is. $4000.00
# 2- light text wear on the B and G, red is good $4000.00
# 3- light text wear on the green only, R and B are good $4500.00
# 4- light text wear on the green only, R and B are good $4500.00
#5- light uniform 4:3 wear on the green only, R and B are good $5000.00
Secondary RGB input module $150.00
Video/S-video input module $150.00
ACON camera and PC board $350.00 (only 2 available)
Original Marquee ceiling brackets $150.00 (only 4 available)
1- Barco 1200. This is a high end 9" EM focus liquid coupled projector
that I sold last year. The customer is moving, and wants to sell it. THe
set was in good shape when I sold it, and he did not use it a lot, so
safe to say that the tubes and chassis are still in excellent condition.
135 Khz scan rate, 1200 lumens, digital convergence, on screen menus,
video, S-video and RGB inputs. He's including a component to RGB
converter and some other goodies I believe.

AS IS PROJECTORS
The following sets all require some work, as indicated in the
descriptions below. I'm happy to quote on doing the actual work, and
I'll be selling a number of these sets in refurbished condition as I get
to them.
1- NEC 9 PG Plus. This set works fine, and comes with the video/S-video
input and point convergence card options. I've test run it. 800 lumens
from 7 1/2" tubes, EM focus, digital convergence, on screen menus, etc.
92 Khz scan rate, video, S-video and RGB inputs. This set need all three
tubes to be replaced. all have wear on them, two of the tubes have
slight text burn as well. Great for spare parts, or look on eBay for
some better tubes to drop in. C/W wireless NEC remote. The case is in
good shape except on one side where one of the side panels has two
cracks. I have a replacement if someone wants one.
$750.00
5- Marquee 8110 Plus. These are very similar in performance and
manufacturing date to the Marquee 8500, and many parts and modules (and
tubes are interchangeable between these sets, as well as the Marquee
8000. The 8110 puts out 1200 lumens as compared to 1000 of the older
8000 model.
These sets work fine, but all tubes have text burn. I'll sell these
complete for $1300.00 each, or I'll strip the sets down if you just want
the modules as backup. A great way to upgrade an older 8000 model, or a
great way to have 100% parts redundancy for an existing set.
$1400.00 each
3 Sony G 70's. I have not fired these up yet, but all three have
significant wear on all three tubes. I will retube these and am
researching prices form Sony of Canada on tubes, but I can also offer
these hard to find sets as is for those of you that want a backup
chassis. 8" EM focus tubes, 120 Khz scan rate, 1200 lumens, RGB, video
and S-video inputs. Digital convergence, on screen menus, a very high
end set. I will guarantee that the chassis is in full working operation,
all these need will be the CRT's.
$1800.00 each as is. Figure on about $4500.00 with new tubes from Sony.
UPCOMING:
I will have one or two more XG 's coming in down the road as well. An XG
110 and another XG 135.
2- BArco G 800
2- Sony 12XX
1- Ampro 2000
2- Sony D 50
PARTS:
I have a few hard to find parts in stock again:
Marquee LV and HV power supplies. I will sell these on an exchange
basis, send me your bad one, and I'll send you a good one. The filament
modification has been done on all of the LC supplies, mandatory for long
term tube life.
$350.00 each.
I currently have three XG 135 LC green tubes in stock with light 4:3
wear. These have come out of sets that I have retubed, and I will sell
these tubes cheap for someone that wants to upgrade their worn tube. All
of these tubes have about 3000 hours of use on them and have wide wear
patterns, so they are a great replacement over much more expensive
rebuilt or new tubes. I'm happy to send you pictures of the tube face so
you know what you're getting.
$175.00 each.
That's it for this week, expect a more substantial list with more new
projectors on it in 2 weeks.
