Well, it's really embarrassing when your friend
asks to watch your own big screen, you turn it on and set it up for
them, and then it goes 'bang', shuts off and the smell of burnt silicone
fills the living room.
That's what happened to my own personal projector this morning.
Naturally, I have not had time to repair it yet.. :)
Anyways, here's today's projector list. Some new, some old, and some
upcoming.
If you want off this mailing list, just send me back a quick email and
I'll take you off right away. As usual, all prices in US dollars. Prices
include manuals where applicable, a power cord and I'll preset the
projector to your screen size and mounting method.
Video grade projectors.- not HDTV or line doubler compatible. Will
accept a regular video signal or an S-video signal where indicated.
1- Zenith/GE Imager- an older entry level projector made originally by
Zenith. Came from a rental company, and one of my staff has been using
it for the last year. Video only, analog convergence. Convection cooled.
Currently set up for an 8' diagonal screen, floor mount. Works, but sold
as is.
$200.00
1- Barco 600S. Video and S-video inputs. 600 lumens, c/w plug in remote
that fits onto the back of the unit. Tubes in great shape. Throws a
great picture. Currently on eBay listed here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1344696327
A great video only projector; better than the typical Sony 10XX series
in my opinion. The 600s came after the popular Barco 600, and had edge
blanking and a more stable convergence system, as well as a built in
video decoder.
$625.00
I am still working on some Sony 10XX series. I hope to have those
running by the end of the week for those that are interested.
Data Grade video projectors
1- Panasonic PT-200. An entry level data grade projector. 7" tubes, 36
Khz scan rate, 550 lumens, video, S-video and RGB inputs. Tube in good
shape. c/w ceiling mount. A smaller lighter unit than most and very
slimline for those low ceilings. Got this one on a trade in. The white
case is in good shape with minimal scrapes and scratches
$550.00
1- Electrohome ECP 4100. 650 lumens, 80 Khz scan rate, 7" Sony tubes,
Video, S-video and dual RGB inputs. Digital convergence, on screen
menus, fan cooled but quiet. Good condition; I have wireless remotes
available for these E'homes again for $100.00 extra.
Listed on eBay here:

$700.00
1- Ampro 2000G. 600 lumens 7" Sony tubes, Video and RGB inputs. 65 Khz
scan rate. This projector will need a serial connection to a computer
for setting and converging this projector. I will email you the software
required at no charge. These Ampros throw a nice picture. Although Ampro
is out of business, I have lots of parts for these units. The 2000 was
the most popular of the entire Ampro series, and I have had good success
in selling these.

$575.00
NEC PG series projectors. I have a bunch of these popular sets, with
more on the way. All feature the following:
-7 1/2" EM focus tubes
-800 lumens
-RGB inputs
-c/w wireless remote
-digital convergence w/on screen menus
-small footprint
-NEC's are cream colored, the equivalent GE's are charcoal
2- GE 601. Equivalent to the NEC 6 PG. 60 Khz scan rate. Original tubes
in great shape 3500 hours approx on each set.
$2000.00 each
1- GE 601 New green tube. Excellent R and B tubes. RGB inputs 60 Khz
scan rate.
$2200.00
1- GE 901- NEC 9 PG equivalent. 90 Khz scan rate. 3700 hours. Excellent
tubes. Point convergence board
$2500.00
1- GE 901 Very slight tube wear, but overall in very good condition.
Video, S-video and RGB inputs. 90 Khz scan rate.
$2000.00
2- NEC GP 5000/GE 610. An underrated NEC 9" projector. 650 lumens, 75
Khz scan rate, video, S-video and RGB inputs. Digital convergence.
Similar to the GP-3000 7" projector but without the power supply
problems. Wireless remote included. Some on screen menus. All of the
sharpness associated with a 9" tube. Great fleshtones like all of the
NEC models.
I have two of these. One of these is listed on eBay here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1344444062
It is $1600.00. The other unit has very slight blue 4:3 wear, but very
useable No hour counter on these units. I would estimate under 3K hours
on the one listed on eBay, somewhere around 4000 hours on the one with
slight wear.
$1200.00 for the second unit.
UPCOMING:
I have more Barco D and G 800's on the way. Expect more on the next list
in 2 weeks. $1200.00 each typically.
Also, more Sony 12XX series coming up. Prices will vary.
I have word that the NEC XG tubes are finally on the way to me from
California. I currently have an XG 135LC, XG 135, two XG 110 and one XG
85. All need one or more tubes replaced. If you're interested, shoot me
an email...
Ditto for three NEC PG Xtras, the 1000 lumen version of the PG series.
They should be up and running within the month.
Barco G 808. I am waiting for a rebuilt blue tube for this last unit I
currently have in stock. This set had two problems. One was the blue
tube, the other was a bad CPU that read 24000 hours when I got the
processor up and running. Judging by the original tubes and the overall
condition of the set, there's no way it was used for 24K hours, so the
counter glitched. The green tube has minimal wear, the red and blue are
perfect. Should be good for 8000 hours or so. This set will be ready in
2 weeks.
$3500.00
1- Sony G 70. This is the set that has been 'upcoming' for about 6 weeks
or so. 4200 hours on the chassis. Text burn on all three tubes. I got in
a set of rebuilds from VDC, and they were terrible, so I am biting the
bullet and am buying three brand new tubes from Sony, plus a brand new
original Sony wireless remote. This set will be as new. Case is almost
perfect with minimal marks. The tubes will be here in about 2 weeks.
This set is more than most; $6500.00, but then again it's like new.
Email me if you're interested.
MISCELLANEOUS STUFF:
NEC IPS 4000 processors. These are like the 4000Q scalars I was ranting
about a few weeks ago, but the 4000 only does line doubling. Same look
and features as the 4000Q, just no scaling. I have one new one in the
box and one rebuilt in the box.
$1200.00-new
$1000.00-rebuilt
A gorgeous doubler, much better than a DVDO or equivalent.
1- Quadscan Pro. No filters, original box and manual, this was my
personal unit until I upgraded to the NEC 4000Q. Video, S-video and
component inputs. Great working condition.
$1000.00
I have a bunch more used power amplifiers in on trade this time:
1- Bryston 3B NRB. About 5(?) years old. 120 watts per channel into 8
ohms. Great condition, but the front panel has some scratches on it.
Easily bought from Bryston. Awesome amplifier, great sounding. Canadian
quality with a 20 year transferable warranty.
$500.00
1- Peavey CS-900 power amplifier. 450 watts per channel into 4 ohms.
Good working condition
$400.00
1- QSC 1400 power amplifier. 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms.
$300.00
I COULD REALLY USE:
Power supply modules for Barco 500/800 series. Will buy or swap for
other CRT parts. I could use 2 or more of them to have as spare loaners.
Email if you have one or two to spare.
Thanks for your support. At risk of offending someone, attached is a bit
of home theatre/electronics humor.. :)

Cheers!
