Greatly reduce your Marquee, Vidikron Vision One/Two, or Madrigal CRT projector fan noise with
modifications designed by an acoustic engineer.
Customers of E-Tech Systems have mentioned that fan noise is distracting some
times, so an acoustic engineer was brought in and upgrades were developed to
greatly reduce fan noise without compromising projector reliability. Far too
many fan mods are simple untested 'hacks' that end up running the projector hotter
than it should, reducing lifespan. Here's how the E-Tech fan mod works:
The Marquee fan noise mod is done to your low voltage power
supply (LVPS), a ten pound metal box which is removable with a
screwdriver and sent to E-Tech Systems in Arizona (USA). Removal of the LVPS
takes 5 minutes.
here for instructions.
The mod employs two new high quality Papst 92mm fans and the strategic
application of acoustic foam material to dampen resonances in the sheet
The improvement is about 5-6db, with none of the metallic 'pepper
grinder' noise after.
Your LVPS is also tested remedied of the dreaded filament over-voltage
problem that is common to many LVPS's and can destroy a set of CRT tubes very quickly.
It takes E-Tech systems approximately 2-2.5 hours to apply
this modification to your LVPS and test the outcome.
Typical turnaround is 1-2 days.
This fan mod will help to increase the dynamic range of the audio portion of
your home theater. If you've already spent a considerable amount of time
and money tweaking the audio side of your home theater, you realize that a low
noise floor is an absolute requirement to maintain a high level of audio quality.
Less background noise results in a higher dynamic
This mod works on any projector
based on the Marquee chassis which includes: Marquee 7xxx/8xxx/9xxx,
Vidikron Vision One/Two, Madrigal MP8/MP9, Reference Imaging, Accurate Imaging,
and VDC series CRT projectors.
E-Tech Systems in Scottsdale Arizona is the premier refurber of
the Marquee CRT projector chassis.

"I received the updated LVPS unit and I was able to install it first shot
like a charm. I could not believe how quiet this unit is. Usually, with the 9500
LC turned off it but the unit in standby it makes enough noise to prevent me
from listening to audio only in my room without turning off the circuit breaker.
Now, with the unit in standby, I cannot tell whether the circuit breaker is on
or off. I had to climb up on the ladder and place my ear next to the LVPS just
to be sure it was working. I Love IT! Very quiet. Now even with my projector
fully turned on, it is much quieter than before. Excellent. Thanks so very
much." - John Roberge
"E-Tech is one of the few CRT related companies who really do offer fast
turnaround times. Send in your LVPS today and you'll likely have it back within
just a few business days. I sent my LVPS to Tim at E-Tech for the fan/filament
mod. When I got it back, I immediately noticed how much quieter the fans were as
compared with before. And the P14 filament voltage was right at 6.3. I tested
the filament voltage again a year later (two weeks ago) and it was still sitting
right at 6.3. Good job, Tim!" - CZ Eddie
"I really recommend this fan mod. If you have a Marquee or similar PJ don't
hesitate to send your LVPS to Tim. He really is a great guy to do deal with. I
had no problem at all except that it was hard to live without the Marquee in the
turnaround period ( I live in Denmark so I have to live without the Marquee
running for about two weeks). BUT the noise reduction is no more that amazing.
Thank you Tim" - Henrik
"This is indeed a great mod. I've gotten a few off Tim over the years, and
while fan noise has never bothered me personally, I do have to check once in a
while in my own HT if the projector is on or off, the difference is THAT
dramatic between the modded LVPS and the original." - Curt Palme
