Hello Everyone. I am a newbie here and learning fast! I have an NEC XG75 that I am trying to set up for the first time. Please pardon my ignorance but I am stuck at the static convergence adjustment. I have the cd manual and the setup remote. I press "operate" and input "6" and the cross-hair test pattern does not come up. I then press the "test" button and the cross-hair pattern comes up. I then press "B" and then press "CTL plus B" and then use the cursor to align the cross hairs. Nothing happens on the cross hairs but I am able to move the arrows on the horizontal line with "H" an "V". I cannot seem to find a way to move the blue and red on the cross hair pattern. Help!! Thank you!

from what you have described i think this is what happened....
when you pushed "B" you turned off the Blue gun and when you pushed "Ctl-B" you told the machine to apply adjustments to the blue gun. as you have turned this off, it makes sense that you don't see changes
try pushing "B" and then "Ctl-R" that will turn off the blue gun (leaving the green and red) and then let you adjust the red gun. i bet you'll see adjustments now as you align the red with the green.
in addition to all the help on this site, here are a couple of links that i have found useful:
http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/brandspecific/nec/xg135_calibration.html
http://www.moesrealm.com/hometheater/crt-focus-guide.html
they talk about other XG models, but the alignment procedures are the same
