This is a new one on me. If I leave the G90 in standby for several days its unresponsive to power switch on both remote and on board control panel. I have to toggle the on/off switch and then normal service resumes. Anyone seen this issue before? No error codes.

It sounds like some computers I have had, well a lot of computers I have had. There is always some odd behavior. The computer I'm on right now, the CD tray does not know if it wants to stay in or out.

Have you changed the Dallas chip? If not, do so immediately.

Dallas chip was replaced 4 months ago. Got it from Mouser and had my original file copied over to it.

My guess is that the Ya board is starting to die. I've argued in the past with Craig (Rounds) about this, but I've seen the SMT caps go close to open on the RGB board. I can only imagine that the Ya board is close to doing the same thing on some sets. He hasn't seen it yet (or at least as of 2 years ago when we discussed it)

My guess is to keep using it until it dies completely, then send it to Craig. The IR and wired remote signals go right to the YA board, so it's a likely suspect.

I have a spare working YA board (thanks to JohnHWman) so if it does kick the bucket I have a test board. So the internal control pad isn't hard wired to the YA?

It is, but the data stream, whether from the IR sensors or the keypad are the same. In the menus, you can shut off the front or back IR sensors, that might make a difference. Smile

Started fine after 24 hours in standby. I think your failing capacitor suggestion is likely correct.

Went to start the G90 and was met with orange error 88. Guess my YA has the same problem as Jeremy's last year
