Very Happy Hello, I live in France and I have Sony tritubes for years. Excuse my english it is not perfect.
During the last month, I went on a new house with my 1292 and after a hour of trimmings the 1292 stop with the message 08 error (v stop), do you know what it means for the électronician that came fifteen days ago and go again the next saturday with a oscillator. He spent two hours on testing transistors ans alimentations on the cards, with the dc card, and not find what is wrong.
The 1292 start and two seconds after, fail.
Thank you if you know what hapen and tell to me!
Daniel.

Welcome to the forum.
This error has been reported a few times. See here

I would look at the DA board first and maybe swap it for a known working one and see if that fixes things. Curt should be able to assist you.

If your technician friend is not familiar with 1292 projectors, he most likely will not be able to repair it. THe best thing would be to send me the V board so I can test it in a 1292 test set here. THat's about the only way you'll get it repaired.

Cheers!

Thank you for you answer Curt Palm; he came and spent two hours in testing dc card, other cards and the supplies of the board, but did not find what is wrong ; he would come Saturday with a oscilloscope. We have the documentation of the 1292; but if you think he does not find the wrong thing, if you show me where is the v board (i don't see v board but dc, da ,.., boards), I will send to you from France to be repair. It is a good one electronician (he repairs my Harman citation 12 ) , but it is not free also it is the same for me.

Daniel.

Unless your tech has the service manual I would send the boards to Curt who has lots of experience repairing these sets. He has a test chassis and can chase your problem quickly.

The electronician came monday and spent three hours on my 1292; he thinks that the wrong come from the dc board, because there is three groups of 4 transistors and one diode which make the vertical signal and one of them go down with the oscilloscope; but none transistor or diode look bad; he thinks that this is a leek problem in tension. He will try to change the four transistors and the diode; what do you think of that?
There are no projector like the 1292 or the g90; i don't want to change for a numeric one that I will change two times a year!
Thank you for yours lights.
Daniel
