Hello,

while watching a movie tonight, the picture suddenly turned blueish. It looked like my blue G2 had suddenly jumped. Using the G2 pots I was able to remove the blue cast, however the LED on the neckboard would not turn off while in the G2 adjustment menu. It did so before.

The tubes are P19Lugs and have just a few 100s hours on them. Any idea? The other tubes are fine.

Thanks

Gerbrand

Hi,

You might try to swap the neckboards between Blue and another of the tubes. If the fault stays on blue it might be the tube itself or the G2 Diagnostic Board. If the fault moves to the color you swapped with the blue neckboard might be the culprit...

The problem stayed away for a while, but yesterday it returned. The reason seems to be that temperatures over here have risen a bit over the past week, so after about 2 hours of watching the projector now runs hot enough for the problem to pop up. Does this give any clues as to the cause? To my touch the blue neckboard seemed a bit hotter, but I was not sure.

Sound like neck board problem, VPJ08 end stage chips run pretty hot even when those are ok and room temperature is around 23 degree.

Your images clearly show that green should run the hottest. So if blue is hotter, this could indeed indicate a problem.

Thanks
