Any ideas?, After cleaning the fungus from all three lens of my newly acquired Marquee 9500lc. Using the guide in advanced procedures for fungus removal, I flushed using water and CRL, replaced coolant with non-glycol anti freeze, after reassemble, everything is functioning. But I hear what sounds like an arching and smelt what was like ozone coming from the green tube.
Thanks Brian

Hello

Your high voltage wires must be locked into the splitter block, confirm they are tight until they click, a pair of large needlenose pliers can be used like a spanner wrench.

What coolant did you use?

Hey Tim
Yes I double checked the high voltage that wasn't it, they were tight. it seems to have calmed down now. but when it was happening, I could move around the focus leads and it changed the sound. anyway's thanks for the tip. As for the coolant, I took a chance, and went with this stuff

Don't let that zap of high voltage hit you, it can hurt.

Turn all the lights off in the room and look into the open case. Try and see if you can spot the arc of HV jumping. Don't let this keep doing it though.

ozone is created by high voltage O --> HV = O3 so if you have a strong smell of ozone your pj is leaking HV.
did you connect all groundstraps?

yea cragr, I don't see any arch and although it has calmed down there is still a faint crackling.

Wit the machine turned off overnight, pop the plastic covers off the tubes. Clean the HV wires with Alchohol and clean cloth. If you have the loose fitting rubber boots clean inside them with Q-tip and alchohol. Now fill the boots with Clear or Black non-automotive RTV Silicone until they are full and seeping out . Allow to cure for 24 hours

did you remove the high voltage leads from the tubes? You shouldn't have had to if you just did a bellows replacement/clean. If you didn't, then I can't see the boots as a source, although disturbing them may have caused something if they are of the older vintage. Dragan's post is a fix. If it continues, buy some new ones from Curt. Dragan's fix was great when these HV leads were impossible to get new. Now I would just buy new all day long. They are very difficult to leak proof once they start to leak.

Good point, I remember now Curt has these brand new ( I need to edit my pic : ). I believe you have to pull the tube out of the machine though and remove the yokes to really get access to the boot and insure a proper install.
Those old boots can start to leak if you just look at them wrong. Typically moving the HV wire around + the conductive Black Carbon Sooty build-up on the wire is enough to create a leak-path.
