Just wondering where the best place to get glycol these days is?
I found a link online for 9.99 16oz bottle. Wondering if there is anything cheaper out there?

I buy it by the gallon or 4L bottle from Fisher Scientific. It's not particularly cheap but the trick is to call Fisher and ask about it. They have a lot of products that come up if you search "ethylene glycol" but their sales people can help you. Tell them you want water clear
basic ethylene glycol which will be used only as a coolant in a lens system, and you have no requirement for any certified applications
or any critical applications. They'll point you to their basic product at a very reasonable price.
All you want is clear ethylene glycol. You'll cut it with distilled water, from 30 to 50 percent by volume. That's all you want or need.
Any higher spec type will just cost you more than you need to pay.

Did I say water? My mistake. Typo. Forgetfulness. Whatever you want to call it. Glycerine is the right answer.

MAT electronics also has the crt projection coolant, usually better
price in quantity than MCM and same product, works fine & crystal
clear, no mixing required....

I had forgotten about this. Ditto on Cliff's questions. I don't think there has been any long term update.

Mike has been using longer than me. I think he is over a year now. It has inhibitors in it and the bio formula does not react with the metals or paint.

To be honest I am really, REALLY sick of CRT coolan.t i mean we're pouring a chemical that attacks aluminum into an Aluminum chamber and then wondering why there's problems
at 12 bucks a gallon ($4/Quart), this stuff is half the cost of nasty Glycol coolant.

Athanasios | probably don't need to, it's PH7 which is the same as CRT Coolant except CRT cooolant has no corrosion inhibitors that i know of.

Not real sure about that Drag, MP did pour a beaker of this stuff and one of the regular coolant, both new, and looked at them. The bio stuff looked crystal clear where as the regular coolant looked ever so slightly cloudy next to it.

Maybe someone with some leftover Orison fluid could send some down to Scott. I believe VDC has an optic specialist on staff that could check it.
