It does not matter at all. Eye-one Display 2 and Display LT have the same piece of hardware.
CalMAN don't distinguish between them. (It is i1Match software only that distinguish Eye-one Display 2 from Display LT)

You are correct. They will work but they are not ideal. See: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=11436.html
| Quote: | | We do not recommend the Display 2/LT for front projector calibration as it does not include a tripod mount and the diffuser is not great for illuminant measurement (directly at the lens on front projectors). The EyeOne Pro, the Chroma 5 and the CalMAN Enhanced Spyder 3 are better choices for front projector calibration (see below). |

They are only good for about a year, then you throw them away as they loose accuracy much faster than a tri stimulus probe like the Chroma 5 or the Eye1 pro.
But first get a few different calibration disc's this disc is free to burn to a regular DVD that you player will read as a Blu ray disc
Also get theese
Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics (DVD International) : Audio and video calibration test patterns and instructions. Get the most out of your HD home theater using this disc and our Greyscale & Colour Calibration for Dummies guide.
Spears & Munsil High-Definition Benchmark Blu-ray Disc Edition : Advanced video benchmarking and calibration. While there is some overlap, it is a a perfect compliment to Digital Video Essentials as it has deinterlacing and chroma alignment tests, as well as other advanced features. No audio calibration so Digital Video Essentials is still required. Comes free in the box when you purchase the (phenomenal!) Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player.
Use these first as is with out a meter to see how well you can get it by eye till your ready and more familiar with
your Dwin.
You will also need to lear how to set your G2 levels for each color so all tubes begin to illuminate simultaneously when
raising brightness while showing a 0 IRE Window pattern.
once you get that set you'll be able to calibrate your Dwin much better and then move to using a probe to get it as close to perfect as you can. But first you must really learn about the controls of your dwin and then later the controls for any color management in your video processor if it has them to fine tune it all.
So the best method is to just practice and repeat it over and over.
There is only one easy method, Hire a pro who knows CRT Pj's.
But what fun is in doing that?
