Few months ago my red tube started leacking glycol. Didn't notice it until my PJ refused to start up. Opened the box and the main board was damaged with some connectors burnt. Curt will be sending me a replacement board. But I am confused on what to do with the red tube.
My R tube have a red C element, very low hours on it(like G/B) and shows no signs of wear.
VDC wants to charge more then 1500$ for a new 9" tube.
I feel bad about discarding a new tube because it leaks. What should I do, Is it easy to fix a leacking tube or its better to buy new one?
Sam.

Hello
Get the bellows replaced by sending the tube to VDC in Florida, 866 784 4427 ask for Nathan. They no longer sell just the bellows.

Or wait until I send you an email later today. I'm working on Marquees within a couple of hours and will let you know the condition of my red tubes.

How bad is the leak and what caused it? Is the bellow torn or could it be that the screws that hold the below to the housing came loose allowing glycol that could be under pressure from heat leak through the weak seal. Id check the below mounting metal gasket. its a pain to get to as the front part of the housing is in the way of many of the small screws. here is a guide i made to removing the C-element to get to the bellow screws. you could just go to the part up to where the bellow screws are easy to acces and not remove it but if its leaking it wouldnt hurt to carefully remove it from the housing and add a very thin layer of silicon to the seal and replace the metal gasket tighter to stop the leak, also do the same to the C-element.
