Hello there all You great people on the even greater forum Thumbs Up

I bought the 1252 a few months back and are slowly getting to grips with the beast Twisted Evil
Family, work and a visit from Mr Lumbago has slowed things down a bit...

*The signal is supplied courtesy of a PS3 via a HDfury in to the RGBHV input.

*It will be used for film and games.

*Floor mounted is the only option, on a wheeled table/trolley.

*Screen is fixed and apr. 96x48" and can be masked off as needed.

*Picture quality before super-mega-size (No my Son! You have NO say in this Evil or Very Mad )

*Room is dark and can become almost pitch black if need be.

*Maximise raster and all that..... 8)

Is there an optimal-ish setup for these conditions?
I'm thinking of;

-Signal resolution from the PS3 best suited for the PJ?
-Distance from screen and size of picture?
-All the things I can't even come to think of Embarassed Shocked

Thanks again Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

/Magnus

1080i resolution, your screen size is fine. Best way to find distance from screen is to max rasters, and then move the projector to the proper distance so it fills the screen properly. These are my opinions. Thumbs up on the HD Fury! I doing a full setup will be necessary, and also make sure you have the right size metal lens spacers.

1080i is definitely the resolution to use for that sort of projector. 1080i is 1920x1080 resolution which is exactly the native resolution of Blu-ray, so it'll look fantastic.

If you max the rasters you may want to do the spring mod instead of using the stock metal spacers so you can get better convergence and more phosphor usage. Are the tubes in good shape?

Ahhhhh Very Happy At last!! Answers that my feeble brain can compute Shocked

When I look through the lenses, the surface looks fine. There is what looks like a very slight burn that ends close to the edges of the tubes, but then i wear glasses and suffer from slight colour blindness 8)

I will get to it this weekend and report back Thumbs Up

Very Happy M
