I'm thinking of picking up another RPTV for fun. There's one local to me it's the 60" Phillip's 60PP9363H.

Anyone had anything good or bad to say about these?

I owned a phillips 55PP9701 as my first CRT RPTV- bought it brand new back in 2001, and the image was very nice as I can remember, but the input board crapped out after owning it for a month or so. In warranty service was a joke, and I was shuffled around for a while by a couple different warranty techs until I finally filed a claim with AMEX to dispute the charge. The retailer swapped out the set promptly and I still have the sony 51" WS-500 that was the replacement.

Like I said the image was real nice (better than the sony), and it had good reviews at the time. I wasnt into calibrating sets back then, but did mess around with the service convergence and removed the plexi glare screen to improve the pic. I was impressed with the results. However, I will never knowingly purchase another Philips product after dealing with their customer service at that time. It was that bad. Not a problem with a used set obviously, and if it has lasted a while already with no issues...

Thank's Dano. Yes this is a used set. Guy bought it in 2006 I belive. Says he hasn't had a problem.

Next question how do I get into the service menu to see the hours counter?

I'm pretty sure on that set you can get into service mode by entering 065296 + status. Let me know if that doesn't work.

It might be this one 062596+status , not sure which for that one. Try either one and see which one works. Also when you get in there the hours might be in hex code. If you dont know how to convert then just get me the numbers and letters and I'll do it for you. Good luck!!!

Wow HEX, why do they use that? My RCA has alot of the setting's labeled in HEX too. Although the hours are in Decimal.
