Those have been listed by that seller for quite awhile, now. The seller obviously doesn't have a clue how to sell a piece of equipment that isn't a commodity IT item. Even though the FAQ says 'no pickup', somebody in the south LA area should make contact (hey, Cardiff looks nearby!), fill the seller in and see if they can take a look at the machines - because they'll never sell at that price - or any price for that matter without photos and a detailed description of their condition.

Oh, and another tidbit - The address listed on the contact page as the mailing address - is a house in what looks to be a nice little subdivision!
Google Map

Huh... I wonder if it's a guy running it out of his house and a couple of storage units or something... Ya 'spose?

I disagree. From what I can tell, it's not a scam and it's not a hacked account. I think it's a 1- or 2-man operation that's just reselling surplus/refurb/return stuff for high prices and shipping stuff out when it sells. High margin/low volume.

The feedback for all the items matches the same types of stuff that's currently listed. There's low-dollar and high-dollar stuff in both past auctions and currently listings. They're all long-term listings - they're simply using ebay as a store-front. As for the large number of auctions, it's easy to database that stuff and plug right into ebay's API if you know what you're doing. There are even services that do just that for a smaller operator that doesn't want to develop their own solution. Everything goes back to their domain. Real US address with email addresses at the domain.

The only thing that's funky is maybe the business model. Where do they get their stuff? Are they in possession of it or are they reselling? Maybe they're selling on a commission or something. Who knows?

Seriously - somebody in the LA area should just check it out. Who knows? Might be able to score a deal on some G70's.

This is the line that says its a scam to me, it is THE modus operandi of scammers to have you email them direct and circumvent ebay's own communication tools.

But go ahead and check it out, I'd be surprised if its legit though...

Agreed. Even with great tubes, nowadays, I wouldn't call this a "bargain", nor even a good deal...

True, but the email addresses are usually a yahoo or hotmail address which is bull**** like everything else in the auction. In this case, the email address is at a real domain, registered at a real US address with a toll-free phone number. Not things you do when you're trying to scam a few people.

Also, I didn't mean it was bargain at the asking price. I meant that just like the 'no pickup' policy, the selling price, too may be negotiable and if so, and if the machine was in good shape, that someone COULD get a bargain. Obviously, tube condition is of paramount importance at almost any price.
