Is anyone here bidding on this machine, it's local to me and I was thinking of bidding on it to play around with and use or part out if the tubes are toast. If someone here really wants it let me know so I don't bid it up against you.
It's worth about 20 to me Btw

I've asked them about local pickup for some things that they have had before. Usually they tell me local pickup is Ok but that they charge a $10 pickup fee.
Possibly it depends on the item, the only time I have ever asked about local pickup was when they were selling a NEC 6PG.
Are you thinking of bidding?

Hmm? not sure . I didnt realize it was in the western new york area. brocport is only about 40 minuts from me here in west seneca. I'll have to see as it gets closer to close to see if anyone esle is waiting on the side lines. I dont want to spend more than about 100 bucks.

Just out of curiosity, why's the M8000 listed on the toplist as basically on par with the 808s when the latter has dynamic astig but the former doesn't?

thats a 93 8000, if it has the fixed rear heatsink then none of the boards should be used or mixed with any other marquee. if the tubes are worn then it's pretty only worth it's weight in scrap-metal.

I paid $100 for a stock 8000 HVPS when mine went down.
But with the problems it may have the power supplies may be dead anyway

the HV will be a normal 34KV version, 8000 only. The LVPS I would stay away from, they did a lot of improvements to this piece not only for better filtering but to stabilize a few of the rails as well.
Some of the other stuff I would not use are the sweep and convergence yokes, HV splitter, HDM, VErtical and convergence boards, or even the really old plastic HD8 lenses. Tubes might be in good shape though, the 8000 wasn't capable of pushing them very hard and also didn't typically have the P14 problem.
The first 800's are just wierd, the side panels don't even match up to newer machines. I would strip it and sell the metal, probably 50 pounds of nice aluminum plates in there.
