Hi All,

I recently purchased a G90.

In order to fit it to my test application, (and get the wifes approval for the final positioning) I have spent a day or so (practicing, experimenting, and learning the CRT manuals’ lingo) setting the focus, scheimpflug, mg and registration.
It was great fun, and my wife thinks the DLP looks just fine BTW; all colors match up well in the test patterns, and the menus look great.
Along the way, however, I think I cleared something important.

Now, it won't project any real video source, just the menus and test patterns.
I can tell that it senses the inputs, as certain options not available unless specific inputs are live, are available, and if I shut off an input, it will display ‘no input’.
All video memory’s seem to have been cleared.

I have learned a lot, but am still trying to understand service data, factory data, video memory and input memory. I am also unsure where the switcher/video memory/index switch should be on the remote.

My current source is component from a PS3, and will be HDMI as soon as my Moome IFB-HD arrives.

Can anyone see what I overlooked, or broke?

Thank you very much for your help.

Dan

Thanks Brooklyn,
I have checked for PIC muting, I wish that was it.
I am hoping to find something simple like that!

You wont be able to display 1080p over component (if that's what you're aiming for)

Have you tried using composite?

Dan,

Did you change any of the settings on the input signal settings page? Comp/RGB? Clamp, synch, etc.? Tell us what all those settings are.

So, where'd your G90 come from?

Welcome to the forum!

1080p is the goal, but that will have to wait for the moome card and the HDMI cable.
Before I reset all of the settings, it did display through the component inputs.
I could not tell the quality since it was previously set up for a different screen size.
Currently composite does not project either, even though the unit ‘senses’ there is composite input.

Thanks for the welcome,
I did not intentionally ‘change’ the settings, but I believe I may have cleared them.
I will see post what those settings are when I get home tonight, CA time.
You can be more specific on the setting you would like to see so I make sure I get them all.
The unit came out of a private home theater in the Boston area.

Thanks

Ahhh the Boston area. Are you still in the Boston area? There's only a few crt guys around here.

Dan,

First, try setting Input 1 to 'HDTV YPRPB'.

I think the 'component' setting is for 480i/p with standard sync, as opposed to the tri-level synch in HD.

Also, I think memory slot 11 and 31.47khz is the built in oscillator - which runs around 480p. Was the PS3 switched on?

I assume you've tried another source besides the PS3 to rule it out as a potential issue.

Worst case, it sounds like an issue with the RGB input board or the CPU board. I do have a test chassis here that I can test/repair those boards in.

I'll REALLY try and put some tech tips for the G90 on the site within the week...
