I have a new 42" Philips 1080p LCD TV. The wall mount location only has component YPbPr jacks and I do not want to cut holes in my walls to run HDMI cable. Does anyone know of a product that can strip HDCP from a Blue ray HDMI port and output it to a component YPbPr cable so that it can be sent to the YPbPr ports of a 42" Philips 1080p LCD TV?

Thnx.

Technically, a device which converts HDMI/DVI-D to component does not "strip" HDCP.

If you need component, you need an HDFury:

And this:

The Fury will get the signal to RGBHV, then the transcoder will convert it to component and drive the cables.

Another thing to consider is if you have Cat5 in there, you could get some HDMI baluns.

At the end of the day though, I'd run the HDMI if you can't do the Cat5 because it will cost less and have higher quality.

Thanks for the great information. Looks like the TC2000 VGA to YPrPb Transcoder has been discontinued. http://www.crescendo-systems.com/transcoder.html

I've posted a question to HD Fury support to see if they have any suggestions. It's to bad HD Fury doesn't offer a HDMI to HDMI interface because then I may have been able to use the ExtenHD XCON YUV HDMI to (YCbCr/YPbPr) Converter.

The TC2000 has been replaced by the TC1500, it's smaller, about the size of the HDFury and will take RGBHV via a VGA port and output componnet. It's in the testing stages now and will be ready to ship soon.

See this link.

I'll keep watching for the release of the TC1500.
