|
|
Hello, I recently picked up a 1031q. The problem is that there is no picture being displayed on the red or blue crt's. This occurs on both an input and test pattern. The crts are all getting power, since I tried turning up the screen adjustment on one of them, and it displayed a raster and a very faint signal. So I assume wherever the signal splits for the red and blue is the problem. However I am unfamiliar with this set, and could use some advice.
One a side note, I didn't expect this projector to be so small! It is a dwarf next to any other CRT I have.[/b]

Did you turn on the red and blue tube switches under the convergence controls?

Hmm.....
Odd one...
Check all the cables are plugged in. Also wiggle the normal/test switch. They tend to crack the connections.

Thanks for the advice, I checked all of the connections I could find, and tried messing with the norm/test switch, but still nothing. Any idea on what board could be causing this?

Check the tubes for the orange glow from the filaments. The CRT socket or CRT output board right behind the socket can bad.

Yep all 3 CRT filaments light up. Should/can I swap those boards from the green CRT?
Edit: I looked and the neck and output boards are labeled for each color, so I am assuming I cannot sway them?

You can swap them. Beware of the one wire 2 pin connector in the middle of the board. Parts around it get really hot, and the male/female portion are usually welded together, and you'll snap the connector when taking it off. If you can solder, then no big deal as you just solder it in place.
Iv'e got spare boards...
