OK, this a basic question but I have not kept up with all this gamma stuff. I have all source equipment connected to a NEC switcher. Is it safe to assume that the gamma control device goes between the switcher and the projector and provides global correction for all sources or are you picking a source and correcting prior to switching. I'm sure that correcting each source individually is the ideal setup but damn that gets expensive fast. So with only one adjustable correction device, do you tweak it for your favorite source and let the rest fall where they may? Thanks,

Chip put it between it between the switcher and the CRT projector.

Or get a lumagen VP and adjust Gamma for each input. and each input has 4 sub memories so you can even have differnt gamma settings for different media, for example i have the LG BH100 dual player and found that HD-DVDs need a different gamma than the Blu- ray discs, even though its from the same player to the same input.

My audio equipment sucks too big time, that looks like a nice receiver. I saw your question in the HTPC forum, hope I answered it for you. The one thing I don't know about HTPC's is the audio side. That could be the weak link in an HTPC at this point.

Any Model from the HDP up, they have 11 point gamma and now i think they added color gamut to the latest firmware.

I asked that question in a moment of weakness. I think I'm going to pass on the HTPC thing. I have no intension of putting my self in constant tweaking mode. All of my source and home automation equipment is at this time being re-located to a new rack cabinet out in the garage. Everything will be rack mounted and controlled via Crestron. Actually that's the way it is now, it's just being re-located and completly re-wired from scratch. This is a small house and I'll bet you I'll be replacing and installing a couple of miles of wire.

Chip, I do it between the switch and the PJ for the reason you say. I have been able to obtain a gamma setting that looks good on all sources, but I still have to have different projector memory blocks for the sources to have them all looking their best with that gamma setting.

Something like a lumagen is easier.
