|
|
Hi, I have a problem. When I go to the Raster Centering function on my NEC XG750, it says on the screen Raster centering CRT ALL. I think this is correct so far. I can see that the raster, with the test pattern up, is nearly touching the side of the tube face on the right of the green tube but on the left there is a gap of about 10mm. I can get the raster to move further to the right and back again but it will not move more to the left. Any ideas? Its not the blanketing (thats all set at 100%) and I have also shrunk the test pattern to check that there is nothing going on there. Any ideas? I thought this was the course adjustment so I was expecting a fir bit of movement. Static is set at 0.
Regards

You need to be in the service mode then you will have 'separate' functions. Passcode 3151. Doug
You are looking at the raster and not the image correct? Turn up brightness all the way and lower contrast.

dbaisey. Thanks for the reply. I think I am in the service menu. I have put in code 3151 and all the options appear to be assessable to me. How would I know if I am in the service menu? Also I am now lost. What do you mean looking at the raster not the image? I have the brightness right up and contrast down. Isn't it the cross hatch pattern that I am looking to move? I do not have the lenses on the projector, I am looking at the tube like the pictures Curt has done in the how to set up a XG write up. I'm sure it me being dumb and am missing something. Oh when I am trying to adjust, the screen shows the test pattern with the 0 to 100% graphic, at the end of the bar it says V which I assume means vertical, which makes sense because its the vertical axis I am trying to move, right? It also says raster centering CRT ALL. Thanks for the help.

If your in the service mode under the adjust button menu you will have line 9 for the ref adjust. From there you can select raster centering. Page 7-2 of the service manual. Hold ctl down then select each color using the R G and B buttons.
The back raster is not the test patterns, its the part of the tube that is being scanned that the patterns and image are shown on. This should light up with brightness raised to 100%. Look in the tube face at low contrast.

OK, when I hold down the crtl button and press B or R I get the KEY INPUT ERROR, message. As I said before, when I am doing the raster centering its says on the screen CRT ALL. Is there some where I have to select to be able to do the raster one at a time?

Hit adjust. Go down to passcode and hit enter. Put 1111 in and then confirm 1111 then hit enter. Shut off and turn back on. Hit adjust and when it ask's put in 3151 then hit enter. See if that does it. I dont think your in service mode. Doug

Doug, You were right, I was not in service mode but your 1111 trick fixed that and I can now select each tube and can move the raster. Thanks very much. Stephen
