I'd say that's pretty close to the high end here in the USA for that model (for a private sale with no tech support) but Sweden might be different when it comes to pricing due to availability.
That model offers 8" tubes, 825 Lumens, up to 1080p, (although the image will be soft), 1600x1200 Max Resolution, and 60 Mhz bandwidth. 720p would be the sweet spot in a TOTALLY light controlled environment.

I own one, I've just never used it. It's still crated as a matter of fact; so those that have used one will probably have a different take on it than I.

High end? You mean that they are that cheap in the states?

A BG1208 normal price here are: $1500-$3500
1209 = $4000 and up.
808 = ~$1500

I don't know what i am going to use it for.. a gaming pj?

The 1208/s is in the Intermediate Range of projectors whereas the 800 is in the Entry Level.

See here:

I'd say it's good for movie viewing and gaming at 720p and 1080i... but again, you have a light output issue and would need to use it in a totally light controlled room. If $300.00 is acceptable to you and reasonable for where you live...go for it and have some fun. That's what hobbies are about after all right?

As far as pricing for those models you listed...Curt and many others would be a better judge of what's fair and what's not. If you buy from Curt you'll be getting a machine that's tested, tweeked, had critical mods performed, and comes with tech support.

TV/Projector: All of them!

He says he's already sourced the set..Smile

Considering shipping from North America will run $300-400 at this point for a set like that, you can't do better even if someone gave you one for free from here.

Check to see if the set originally came from me, and if so, when I sold it. There's a lot of mods that should be done to this set to prevent spot burn, but if I sold it from about mid 2003 and newer, the mods are done. Some of my older sales didn't hvae all the mods done because I didn't know about them. If the set didn't come from me, then assume no mods were done..Damn, that sounded presumptuous! Very Happy

It is a good entry level set and if it focuses well, it will show you what a CRT can do well..Smile A 1208 or higher will do better though..Wink

Yeah, well i can say that it does not come from the states. It is probably maintained by a swedish company.

As i alread have two 1208 and i really don't have any use for another pj i just was curious..

The prices i wrote are aproximately the prices for those in sweden, and barcos are pretty "big" here.
One can get a barco any day, but e-home, sony's etc is rarely seen in ads.

There is an auction going on now for 3psc 1209s/2's (3000hours) but i can probably not afford any of them.
A university here is switching to digital i think.

One tiny spotburn in blue tube, otherwise there are no wear on the tubes.

Don't know if i will resell it or if i will get a new spotless tube.

Something has been repaired in it. They say the hv module has been swapped, but it is hard to know
when they know nothing about crt's. Maybe it was repaired because it casued spotburns?

What mods/services should be done to prevent it in the future?
