No Brokeback Mountain the sequel is in the works apparently. Heath was found dead today in NYC, a suicide apparently.

Yeah my wife sent me an email at work as soon as the word got around her all woman office (except for one guy named Jeremy who I have my doubts about....men just shouldn't walk around with their hand dangling of their wrist in front of them). He was supposed to be The Joker in the next Batman movie.

I hate to see anybody do that. Especially so when they have access to the best medical care money can buy...but again....I hate to see anybody resort to that regardless of status. Although he was divorced, he left a little 2 year old girl without a daddy.

Not that anybody who is obviously in that much emotional pain is thinking straight, but in my personal experience, suicide is a selfish act that leaves those who loved them to suffer a life of pain. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

My heart goes out to his family.

Greg

The Batman movie had wrapped as far as I know. Summer release. You can bet the movie studio will profit from this.

It wasn't a suicide - it was an accident. (So the reporters are saying now)

Totally f*cked up.. He was a nice guy and a real talent.

2 year old kid...

Such a waste

I can relate AR - yesterday I found out he was going to be in the next Batman and I thought "that kid is going places!" I was so shocked this morning when I heard the news.

I really feel for his family.

What a shame he really had talent.
I think "Two hands" is still one of my favorite low budget movies. If you have not seen it and enjoyed "lock stock and two smoking barrels" then I would recommend it if you can find it.

I found out later on that Batman had already wrapped too. One of his friends said he started having anxiety problems during filming and wasn't sleeping well....which is usually associated with some form of emotional illness whether chronic or acute. Most likely it was a sudden chemical imbalance. It's just a crying shame he was by himself. If he had somebody close by, a new live in girlfriend or the like, it might have all gone differently. I wonder how much the personal and public stigma of seeking help for his problem affected the outcome also.

IMO doctors are just too damn loose with the scrip pad when it's for famous people. The rest of us fight to get antibiotics and the famous seem to always be over medicated. Mixing Diazepam and prescription sleeping pills, IMO, was a recipe for disaster. (Diazepam was first marketed as Valium) Mix the two and in high enough sudden concentrations and you'll go into an ultra deep sleep where breathing is suppressed until you die of asphyxiation. It's also possible he had existing undiagnosed sleep apnea problems. His autopsy will end alot of the speculation. No ME will ever prove (might suspect but wouldn't publicly make that official ruling) it was suicide so they (the blood thirsty media) might as well shut up and go back to chasing Britney.

RIP man.

I'm sorry, to me there is no thing as an 'accidental' overdose. You need to take a LOT of pills to 'accidentally' overdose. Gimme a break.

Maybe it's just because I try really hard not to ever take ANY pills, only allergy pills every spring as the pollen is unbearable, but it does seem from having dated a chick from the US, that you USers pop pills for EVERYTHING.

Uppers, downers, viagara, sleeping pills.... no wonder humans are building up resistance to superbugs, which means developing new stronger drugs, etc.

I use a different approach: With the large quantity of crap I eat, my immune system is strong, and bugs simply bounce off my skin. Thumbs Up

I'm with you Curt. I don't take pills except for a multi vitamin and a single baby aspirin daily. Of course, I guess it's a good thing that you stay fairly healthy as you might fall over dead waiting to be seen by a doctor there in Canada I suppose.

I heard that he was really messed up over teh whole batman movie thing. really got into the "Joker" character and that was messing with his mind. so he was put on anti depressants. those mixed with sleeping pills.... perhaps a shot of alcohol to wash it down....
don't take much when you mix things.

I liked "A Knights Tale"
