Hi,

New member - been a projector tech for about 8 years on A to Z however I all but stopped working on CRTs a while ago with the exception of my own G70. Tonight a few minutes after powering up and while viewing the Nintendo Wii, the bottom of the image curled upward in a pink smiley face and the projector shut off. Error code 30. I unplugged it and waited a while then tried to power up but the projector turns on and then 1-2 seconds later turns off and throws error code 30.

Any ideas? Bad low voltage power supply? Reseat the DC board?

Thanks,
John

Here's the error code link as you may have already found: http://www.curtpalme.com/docs/SonyG70_Error_Codes.pdf

You're on the right track. The Sony G70/G90 series are at that age where things are starting to give up the ghost.

Curt will probably have the parts you need in stock. Drop him a PM or maybe he'll pop in here.

Welcome to the Forum.

Better yet, email me at curtpalme @shaw.ca. This most likely is a bad DC board, I've had a few go bad recently. I've got all of the parts, turnaround is pretty quick, like 3-4 days.
