What do you guys think?

Looks play a huge role in if a women makes the cut or not. Just like when audio was introduced to movies and ruined it for actors that could not speak ever well, will HD make the cut off age for women lower? Will this be a downside to HD, more mindless good looking young women that can not act? Right now I look at the women actors out there and realize that a large portion of them are hired to draw a audience of men. In a way this could be good, Victoria Secret models everywhere, yeah, t*ts and ass and on top of that, she only had two lines in the whole movie Very Happy

Watched an HD Demo Reel on D-VHS (commercial reel, and commercial player, while demoing a modded 9500 at HiRez.) Chip (stefuel) was in attendance... (can't remember if it was 720p or 1080i.)

Among the other content on the demo reel was a sequence of lingerie models, which was great, and this topic was being bantered about. Then, halfway through the sequence, something caught the eyes of one or two of us.
"Roll that back!"
"Little farther..."
"Who can see it?"
(says a bemused respondent) "Wish MY wife looked that good after pregnancy and a C-section!"

Actually that's "death KNELL".

But think about it...HD video sources are now at least approaching the quality of a well made film movie. But they're not better than the
source movie.

HD isn't more revealing than film. So Hollywood won't have to be pickier about how actresses look or how their makeup is done,
because for the movie makers, nothing has changed. You're just able to see a more faithful recreation of the film now, with HD video.

I was wondering about that, I figured "death nail" would be about the nails they used in coffins, good guess, huh? Looks like "death knell" is the ringing of a bell announcing a death.

Yeah, I hear ya, but what would help sell more HD, Marisa Tomei in 1991 "Oscar" in her cute little negligee, or some older lady all covered up, to hide stuff?

We are not just going to the movie theater to watch, we are now making a purchase of a hard copy we will keep. I know when I buy a DVD, I evaluate the purchase a lot more then a "walk in" movie buy. Also I see more complexity, actors do not always just go straight to movies, they may do TV before they end up in the movies. Now if you do not make the cut for a TV program because you do not look good in HD, then you may never make it to movies. I think it is just another added test actors will have to pass to make it to the big time.

No more softening of the focus to make someone look good, it's not going to work if it's all about HD.

I think it's human nature, if a HD copy reveals flaws or highlights beauty, we will tend to buy more copies of beauty. It's kinda like SD versus HD movie. They both contain the whole story, but the HD looks better and we want the better looking version. HD is the young beauty, SD is the old women.

I still have my 73' Vega that I bought when I was 17. It's a little different now after I built a dual turbo intercooled V6 for it, but I still have it.

I like good talent too, but you have to admit, not a lot of talented ugly women make it. It's like Curt's Elves, no ugly women there, but I bet they are real talented at what they can do Laughing

Are you the same guy that was in the VW forum, correcting people there?

I have been tempted get after a few people about their bad spelling. It's just plain lazy on their part, with spelling correction so easy to do.

And by the way it's a two door so it's a long way to the back of the car. 73'!

I was watching the HD Blade Runner today and the wife walked in during a scene with Edward james Olmos and Harrison Ford and commented on how much "more" she could see.Her thought was that she was just able to now( at home) see all the detail the big screen theater version would have shown.

I did not try this test with the loincloth scene from 300 yet..

Jask, you do not have to test her with that 300 scene, because she's probably already tested it in your absence. Very Happy

I'll admit the wife did watch half of the bikini destinations in Blu-ray yesterday. The first half, which she watched, had women of average looks and plenty of bad breast jobs, etc., but even the wife wouldn't site still for the second half where some better looking ladies came on the TV. Razz
