Anyone laboring into the acquisition of the Harry Potter five movie Blue-ray boxed set?

why would you not wait for the full set after the last movie is made? that's what i did with the LOTR movies, what i'll do with Narnia. i still regret picking up matrix 2 and 3 a month before the HDDVD set of all 3 came out.
although i'd also been real happy if they hadn't bothered even making 2 and 3

Not sure how many movies are/were planned to be able to predict that kind of option.

The remaining 2 movies are likely 3+ more years from completion. Then add another year for the set to be released on HDM.
By 2012, the complete set will probably be available on non-compressed video on demand for much less than $100.
The current set is receiving rave reviews for PQ and AQ, so I took advantage of the Warner deal and ordered the blu set (the HDDVD set has a few more extra features, but I prefer the PS3 control/PQ over my HD-A20).

"laboring into the acquisition"?!
I clicked, it shipped.
Did you run into complications or a conspriracy (as usual)?
I have heard that a few people got HDDVD as disc #4 in their Blu-ray set. Is that what you're "laboring" about?

Oh I see.
its a box set of the first 5 movies.
I first thought you meant that the Bluray version of the movie had both blu ray and hd dvd in the same box.
Somebody fed in the wrong media in the packing dept.

LOL, that is funny as hell. Well, I guess HD DVD is being 'creative' in getting their wares into the hands of consumers.

Why would I want to wait several more years before being able to watch this in HD?
I don't care that it is a set. I bought it this way because of the deal I got

Hey now, I have not even heard of this problem with disk #4 until you presented it. Seems like an HD DVD conspiracy for sure.

I just decided to buy the singles over time. I snagged #3 (Azkaban) & #5 (Phoenix) the other day and I'm currently reading #5. I had heard that the movie deviated a bit from the book, but wow. I'm only a few chapters into the book and the change is already pretty significant.

just look at the thickness of the books. #1 and #2 are quite thin. #5 is 5 times as thick. but the movies are the same length more or less. Something has gotta give.
i don't see how anyone could get the story by only watching the movies.
Entire subplots are left out.
The quiddich matches, the house elves are left out completely.

Ron & Hermoine becoming house prefects is another fairly big omission from the movie. In hindsight, it's almost like the director was in a rush to get from one special effects sequence to the other.
