I picked up an HD-A30 tonight to try it with my PJ & Moome DVI card. It connected no probelme, but the image is wrapped aroudn the back of the raster. No matter what I try I cannot get the picture acceptable without weird effects.

Bright vertical lines, or dark & Light bands horizontally. The porches just don;t seem to want to play ball.

Has anyone gotten this combination working at all?

Cheers Ken./

Hello

Look in the projector menus for a setting called Short Retrace aka Fast Retrace, see if that helps and let us know.

Thx Tim,

But I returned it already. I figure I can wait. The picture from 1080i is awesoem to begin with Smile

Though I did figure out how anyone can get a HD-A30 for under $200 if they have no morals and are complete crooks lol!!!

There's no retrace setting I'm aware of in XG's.

het Mark,

longtime no chat. Do you figure it's basically a bandwidth issue or the porch settings that are just to awkward for the XG?

It's nothing to do with bandwidth - bandwidth is just frequency response.

I think it's a retrace issue caused by porch settings/sync widths, combined with a black level clamping/streaking issue due to porches.

I don't think you can do anything about it, I hope I'm wrong..

Is this 1080i 60hz or 1080p 60hz?

1080p/60

1080i/60 worls beautifully. But you know me and that elusive XG 1080p solution on the cheap Wink

I think I remember why I went with a HTPC for DVD before. Looks like that will be the way to go in the future as well 1080i/72hz was the best before, I bet it will look gorgeous from HD DVD as well.
