Hello, I have a Barco Retrographics 801s. The problem I am having is that there is always a blank raster of sorts on the CRT that won't go away. Even if I turn the G2 all of the way down, and have no picture sent to it, there is still an extra blank raster there. The G2 pot does adjust the regular raster fine, but this extra brightness is always there.

I tried swapping the RGB out and neck boards and there was no change. What could be causing this?

Either you're seeing phosphor afterglow, or the tube itself is bad (bad cutoff).

Sounds like a G1 short.

It is not afterglow, so it sounds like a problem that I will just have to live with? Unless I can get ahold of one of those special CRT testers to test the G1?
