Hi guys
I have some problems whit my BD808. It has about 7000 hours on it but the
tubs are in great condition, no wear and no burnins. So far so good. My problem
is whit the blue tube. It sometimes changes in brightness, it becomes a little darker
but after I while (sometimes seconds sometimes several minutes) it go back to the
normal brightness. The changes aren’t big but defiantly noticeable.
My other problem is also whit the blue tube I suspect that they are related because so
far as I can tell the problem only appears when the tube is in the darker mode (problem
number 1) , all bright objects displayed on it casts blurry shadows (hard to describe but
It looks like dark streaks the emanates from the bright object). My pj is mounted in the
ceiling so the shadows appear on the right side of the objects if I look directly at the tube
surface (to the opposite direction of the green tube) If I increase the contrast the problem
gets less noticeably but it does not disappear
Any ideas?

Sounds like a poor connection somewhere or the tube. I would first try swapping the crt card with another tube and see if it follows. If it follows, its probably on the card. If not then you need to verify if its the tube or not. The easiest but not easy way is to swap the whole tube to another location and see if it follows or not. You may just want to try reseating other connections first, but verifying the tube would be my first choice. But its your call. Good Luck!!!

I have an bd808 also, and i had a similar problem but with my red tube. Ended up being the scaler I was using, just the red would change in brightness until one day it just died. Replaced it and have had no problems since. You might try swapping the video amp with the red or green and see if the problem follows the amp.

Sounds like blue rgb amp is going bad soon, it's board above tube neck.

Swap it with red and see if problem follows.
Edit. I'm so slow...
