Hello
Have a BG1208s with very good Sony tubes - is possible use them in a BG808s/E?
Any way – is a change from 1208s too 808s/E a significant upgrade?
Best regards

Yes, both use same Sony 07MFP2 tubes.

It's partly upgrade and partly downgrade. BG808s have newer style rgb signal boards and those are little better. It also have newer software with few adjustment more and iris. But BG1208s scans higher and have half smaller horizontal retrace time that helps with high resolutions like 1080p. It also should be little brighter.

You should combine those two to 1208s /2 Very Happy (Real 1208s /2 have MEC tubes though)
1208s controller probably still works if you take new style switcher-, driver- and neck cards from BG808s. Andy (Mad Mr H) or someone else can probably confirm this...
