Well after I managed to switch the 3600 on, I now have the problem that after it seems to power up normally it shows HI BEAM CURRENT. Any ideas?

Unplug the green CRT card from the tube (the card that plugs onto the CRT pins). You can leave it in the projector just keep it from shorting to anything metal. Try turning on the projector. It sounds like a bad green CRT card that is turning the tube full on. That shuts down the HVPS.

Yes the green CRT card in fact seems to be bad, the projector works fine when disconnecting the green. Thanks a lot for this tip!
Could this also be caused by the tube? During shipping the green CRT card got loose and bent the pins of the green tube.

Not likely.
Try using one of the good cards on the green tube.

I actually found something wrong on the green CRT card. One of these white sqares (I've got no idea what this actually is) has one of it's pins loose. Can I solder that or should I look for a replacement part? Sorry for the stupid question but I've never seen such a part before.

The white square things are power resistors (180 ohm, 10W, NON-INDUCTIVE). They are part of the video amplifier. If you can resolder the terminal to the part, do so. It is probably silver solder or some other high temperature solder, though.

Thank you for all your help, the AmPro works again! I resoldered the pins, so far the AmPro is working. Just one more thing: when playing around with the remote I accidently switched off the red tube... Can someone tell me how to switch it back on? Thanks a lot!
EDIT: ok, found out how to switch the red on again too. Thanks to everybody for their help!

Aren't you glad you got an Ampro? So reliable and easy to repair in the rare event that it needs it
