Bought a Sony PS3 a couple of months back and sent in my choices from the pre-selection of Blu-ray movies in the offer. Only two of the five picks were honored. In my personal experience, it is not worth even allowing yourself to be incentize into purchasing anything.

Oh, the note in the envelope states the movies of choice were not available, but yet they are some of the cheapest-available movies in retail right now and in stock. I wonder if the same results will occur whenever I get the HD DVD free movie shipment.

So far, though, the Blu-ray movie offer shall get TWO THUMBS DOWN in my book. Sad Mad

Nice. That's about par for Sony, isn't it? My dad and are both waiting for our freebies - I suppose we'll get screwed, too. In contrast, we both got all our free HD-DVD's. Thanks Toshiba, and screw you, Sony.

Probably depends on how early in the "deal" you ordered. They seem to earmark so many copies of each for giving away for free.

I sent my Blu-ray disc request in 1 day after it started and got all the titles I asked for. I don't think I've watched any of them yet... Smile

Some two months after I submitted my free HD-DVD request, I got a letter back stating that I filled out my form incorrectly. I was supposed to pick only one title from each category but I had picked two from one. Silly me, I hadn't noticed that there even were categories. I was allowed to resubmit my corrected form but I have heard nothing in over two months. I have no idea why these things take so long to process. Don't they have these modern devices called computers?

Simple: They save money by batching the orders. The farm out the processing to third parties (ie: lowest bidders). They don't have people sitting around all the time ready to send out orders, so maybe once every month or two or at the end of the entire thing, they'll spend a week mailing out the orders.

I feel that Sony and Best Buy owes me. Do not go near either if you see me in the parking lot. Evil or Very Mad
