I'm currently working on a BG1200 from someone else. Nice machine with colored C elements, but it does have some serious problems:

1)
When doing a "set to midposition" the linearity of the raster is way off in the vertical direction. Since there are no pots to modify the vertical linearity I think the vertical board is defective, correct? I've removed the vertical board and it shows two Barco numbers: R762112 and R7621125. I need a replacement board so which one do I need? I think that the "5" at the end means that it's an improved board. But will the other board (without the "5") also work?

2)
There are also problems at the left side of the image. There's no way I can line up the blue and red raster with the green raster. On top of that, the blue raster is rather wavy at the far left whereas the other colors show flat lines.

Any help is hugely appreciated!

I've had a lot of older Barcos, esp the 12XX series come in with V line all over the place. As long as you can adjust it, I wouldn't worry about it.

2) MOst likely a convergence board issue. Drifting caps, blah blah...

Well, it CAN be adjusted but the linearity is so much off that the picture is suffering from Barco's so-called "line of coincidence" which is quite distracting! In other words: there's so much correction needed that the Barco is having a hard time.

Do you have, by any chance, any replacement boards available?

Yes, I've got spares here. Shoot me an email to curtpalme@shaw.ca and I'll get back to you later this week, I'm really backed up.

Thanks!

P402 adjust vlinearity, check sm for procedure.

OT. Does that BG1200 have scrolling vertical lines in picture (50Hz hum bars), when looking close to screen?

Does it have big black isolation transformer in power (mains) input board?

Thanks Ile. Where do I find the SM, BTW?

I wouldn't call this 'hum bars' but at 60Hz there certainly is a lot of noise in the picture. Difficult to explain, but there is a lot of jittering, distracting even at viewing distances.

Don't know because it is not at my home, but why do you want to know?

Crap, there is no pot for symmetry of the parabola in 1200 like 1208 have.
p402 is for vhold in 1200...

Haven't found sm for 1200, that's why i'm bumbling around. Very Happy I use 1208 manual.

I think you are seeing same jittering that I'm. I'm just trying to figure out what is causing it.
Other 120* series projectors don't have similar isolation transformer that my 1200 have...
