hi,

2-3 weeks ago i got this really nice 1252 model but soon i discovered that many of the settings weren't optimal, so i adjusted basically everything i could find a guide for (except for astigmatism). the things is... >before< i did any adjustments, i just wanted to check if i got a picture at all, mechanically focused it and back then i could see the blocks of the H-pattern pretty well.

since the fine adjustment of mechanical/electronic focus and g2 voltage, i can't seem to get a sharp picture any more. recently, i figured out that it seems that the blocks bleed into each other at a g2 voltage of 4V (also when i turn down the bias accordingly using the pluge pattern) because when i adjust g2 using the pluge pattern (at 6500K preset), the Hs look way sharper than at 4V. the problem is that the g2 voltage without a signal then is at -7.9V which causes haze to appear in the picture.

so currently, i have the choice to either see the Hs out of focus (but both mechanical and electronic focus are fine... tried using a sheet in front of the screen to see if the mechanical focus is right and set the electronic focus looking into the lenses...) or sharper but with lots of haze (see attachments).

i've also checked the astigmatism but it looks fine to me (but then again i hardly have any experience with crts, so maybe somebody here thinks differently Wink ) - of course the problem is that i probably can't check it that well because of my focusing problem. the bright dots i'm supposed to see inside the large dots are only slightly visible if i take the picture with my digicam but not to the naked eye...

i really hope somebody here can help me because i can't say how anxious i am to finally watch some hd movies - and this way it just doesn't make any sense Sad
