My son turned on the projector and it displayed the Barco maintenance screen instead of going to the normal image display. He tried getting to the normal screen display but could not figure it out. He called me and I selected input 5 and obtained a picture. However, I am now getting an intermittent roll to the image. It almost appears as if the sync is not stable. When I remove the sync cable, I lose the image but I can't seem to figure out where the problem might be. I'm not sure if my son inadvertently pressed something on the remote or whether I have a component failure.
I have a backup PJ for parts but I am looking for some guidance in where to begin diagnosing the problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Maybe he chanced sync to fast from random access menu? It should be set to slow.
Also input 4 might work better with some sources.
Sometimes vertical hold pots (P1 and P2) drift from vertical deflection board and adjusting those might help to get picture stable. If not, swap vertical deflection board from that backup pj...

Thanks for the suggestions I did check the sync speed and it is on SLOW. However, I will check the posts you recommended and/or change out the deflection board tonight.
