My first question is, is anyone else using a Marquee 8500 and is the Quick and Detailed Setup options missing under the help Menu?. I had both of these setup options on my 8000 but not on this new set I just got a month or so ago.

I also am running a 1024 x 768 @60hz resolution rite now which looks good, but I want to use 1280 x 960 @72hz. When I swith the HTPC resolution to this higher value, the picture gets noticeably smaller horizontally than the 1024 x 768 resolution. I would guess that the higher refresh rate is the cause of this horizontal size shift, but I just wanted to know if any one else uses this resolution successfully on their Marquee set. Thanks a million.

My equipment.
Asus Mother Board
AMD dual core CPU
Ram:Corsair XMS2 DDR2
GeForce 7950GT gc
OS. XP
Straight Wire super DVI to HDMI
Marquee 8500
VIM-HD card.
6n3/4" wang 2 balls currently.

There is a high range and a low range for Marquees with regard to H. frequency. And there are separate H. Size coils on the HDM for each range. I can't recall where the turnover point is, but using the interntal test patterns, at all six preset test resolutions, there should be no
dramatic changes in screen width. If there are, adjustments to the H. Size coils may be in order.

I just figured out that my new VIM-HD card is treating the same resolutions differently than the RGB break out cable I was previously using. I hooked both types of connections up at the same time on different inputs on the marquee set just to see the difference. It looks like the picture width issue is due the VIM card for sure. Maybe I am missing something on the VIM card setup, but it really doesn't seem like theirs anything to setup on it. What else is weird is their is a weird brightness effect on all the text in my desk top when I'm using the VIM card, almost what it looks like when your electronic focus is way off. I thought the gamma correction would fix this but it doesn't go away. I'm beginning to think that my VIM card is bad.
