I need help on setting up my Barco 708 to my PC. I have the pc going into extron 202plus (vga 15 db to 9 db adaptor) then to (tried 3, 4 & 5 bnc) extron system 8plus. I have 5 bnc going into the Barco port 5 for HD cable and DVD which works fine. I have tried different settings for the ATI 9800 card with no luck either no signal or scrolling pink screen. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's got to be a cable or computer issue. THe 708 should have no problems locking to the signal. Try taking out the 202plus..

The signals are on the wrong pins going in to the Extron.

You can not use a standard 9-15 adapter with Extron boxes. The have their own pinout. You will have to use an Extron cable that is made for the boxes or make one of your own.

Hey WaYCooL, If you try a computer instead of a conputer you might be smarter than a 5th grader. Laughing

Hey Scott LoL... I saw that after the fact of posting. Surprised
I will try getting a vga to 5 bnc cable and going straight to the system8 on port 5 (or 3?). My settings on the pc are 1280 x 1024 at 60hz, 70hz and 75hz (tried them all). Is there a pins placement for the MBC cable out there?

Look for Extron 9 pin pinout.

OK. I got a vga to 5 bnc cable and went straight to the bd708, tried 3-6 inputs and on 3 got great colors but constant scrolling, 4-6 was not scrolling but bad image. This was done on my laptop dell 620..
Do I have to do a negative sync for this to work? My ati card may let me do that, if not I'll be getting powerstrip i guess.

Hi, I sent you a pm a while back. My 701 requires a negative sync in order to display 720P. The setting are 1280x720 @ 60 herts with negative sync. Powerstrip is free and is a great little utility.

OK...With Josh's help It took a vga to 5 bnc (only using 4) straight to the extron system8 plus then to BD708. My ATI pc video card had to be set at both Ver. and Hor. to neg sync and had to check the box for composite sync..

Thanks for everyones help..
Great site and Forum for the noobs and the experts...
