There are two types depending on the year it was made.

The P16 tubes are VERY hard to find and are $600-700 from VDC each. The 180 older Toshiba tubes are $300 each from VDC. Finding either type in good used shape is insanely difficult..Sad

There should be another sticker on the side of the tube. It's hard to see, it's near the very front of the tube.

I have a set of tubes from a 701S I'm parting out. I'd probably rate them 5 - 6 with even wear. Let me know if you're interested. My prices would be reasonable. I've got pics of them without using a flash. This is the best way to see tube wear. There's still in the PJ but I'd pull them for you to check the label & tube type.

I'm not sure if you're looking are getting rebuilt tubes from VDC, or if they can be rebuilt. However if they are rebuildable, you could use these as cores and reduce the downtime for replacing your tubes. Else, you have to pull your tubes, send them to VDC to be rebuild and wait, then reinstall the rebuilt tubes. This way you'd just pull your old tubes and install the rebuilt ones from VDC. I don't know the turn around time from VDC but it's not overnight.

On my tubes I don't have any sticker that says outright that they are P16 tubes, so the easy way was to actually just contact Barco. Even though they have sold off the CRT side to the French, they are still very helpfull. If I remember right all you need is the ref number for the PJ, and Barco can then tell you with what Tubes it came with. (On my tubes there's a date sticker which corresponds to the manufaturing date of the PJ, and if this date is different from the PJ manufaturing date, some suspicion is warrent. For an "extreme" example if your PJ popped out in -99 but the tubes says -97, this is not a good sign.)

Doh!

Try emailing cineversum.com (I'm not 100%, but I think TEC took over that site for the CRT Barcos.)

or dreamvision.net (TEC Dreamvision is the owner of the CRT Barco projectors after all ...)

So what did they say, lol?

But hmm, my tubes reads *066. *067, *068, all in numerical order. A wild stab in the dark, but I think either your Red has been swapped, or both of your Green and Blue has? So, keeping to the stab in the dark scenario, probably your tube magnetics aren't properly aligned. (To align these you really need a proper expert ... or being stupid enough to take a big potential lethal zzzap the first time.)

Hmm, there should be a label on each tubes that has the number for that tube. Have you checked this?
