Hey guys,
I've bought a Nintendo Wii for the family for Xmas (wife really wants one) and it comes with one "Wii Remote" and one "Nunchuck Remote".
Not really sure what the difference is or which games use which.
If two people want to play some of the games that come right in the box (I think there's some sports games in there), what extra remote should I pick up? Another "Wii Remote"?
Kal

Yes, you want a 2nd "wiimote". But go ahead and buy "wiiplay"... it comes with several new games, plus a 2nd remote.
I'd estimate that only about 10% of the games use the nunchuck extension... so you can get a 2nd one, but t's not critical.
Also, if you have any old N64 games, don't buy the Wii Classic controller, just use the original N64 gamepads.

Wish I'd known about WiiPlay. My kids bought a second controller for their Wii. Maybe they need a 3rd one so dad can play along....
(Was just looking at reviews for Guitar Hero III for the Wii. I think this needs to go on my... errr, I mean on THEIR Christmas list!!! )

Any comparable advantages to Guitar HeroIII between a PS3 and the Wii. Looks like a lot of our kids are getting Wii s for Xmax

With previous versions of GH, you had to buy a separate guitar controller that was fairly pricey by itself. With the Wii version, the Wiimote provides a lot of the electronics, but you still need a guitar. The Wii version comes with a guitar shell and the Wiimote slips into the neck of the guitar. Seems like the PS3 version would need a more complicated guitar controller, since it doesn't have the Wiimote doing a lot of the work, but the prices for PS3/Wii versions are the same.
Wii version has some features that take advantage of the Wiimote. E.g. I think you can do the big "air guitar" moves and the Wiimote senses them. Not sure how much that works into the game.
