This is an easy homemade device that can help to retrieve something you
dropped in your projector.

You just dropped a screw,a bracket, a socket, a screwdriver bit or whatever in
your projector. Maybe you can see it, maybe you can't. You can't get it with your
needle nose and you can't use your magnet, because it's aluminum, brass,
plastic or your magnet keeps sticking to metal on it's way in or there are
components that are sensitive to magnets.

Then try this:

Take a piece of bendable wire, (I use a piece of house wire or you can use a
metal coat hanger or whatever) and cut it longer then what you need to reach the
item. Then get your duct tape (a man's best tool).

(See Pic 1)

Cut a piece of duct tape app. 2-3 inches and place the wire on the tape about
1/2 inch back from the edge.

(See Pic 2)

Now roll the tape 1 turn then roll it backwards the rest of the way so the sticky side
is out.

(See Pic 3 & 4)

Then cut another piece of duct tape about 1 inch. Offset it about 1/4 inch from the
end and roll it with the smooth side out. This will leave about 1/4 inch of sticky
tape on the end to retrieve you item.

(See Pic 5 & 6)

Whats nice about useing the bendable wire is you can bend it different ways
to get around objects or under something where your item maybe hiding.

(See Pic 7 & 8)

It will pickup almost anything.

(See pic 9 & 10)

This can also be used in any situation where you can't reach something. Just
use your imagination. For larger or heavier objects just leave more tape exposed.
If you use a metal coat hanger or a bare wire you can insulate it higher with more
duct tape.

Hope this device is helpful to someone.

NOW THATS A MACGYVER TOOL !!!!!!!!!! Wink

Cool idea. The real question is what you were doing with a razor blade on your projector... I mean, G90s are good, but I've never heard of anybody doing lines on them...

The razor blades were for him when he realised he could have gotten just as good a image from a AmPro for a quarter of the price and then the Sony broke Laughing

LOL, Thats a good one.

Yes, I pulled a piece of wire out of the ceiling of the
warehouse, found the duct tape in the glove box of an old truck in the back corner
of the lot. Razor blade was just lying on the floor.

But, I had my trusty old 15 device pocket knife with me.

If you zoom in on the ashtray I think I see some "butts" without filters. Laughing Laughing I'll have to hang out with my son tonight and maybe catch a contact buzz...then get out the Playdough and the Funfactory and see what I can come up with for Marquees. Mr. Green
