780$ 6000h on the tubes. Around 80 in contrast.
For around 50$ in gas I can pick it up myself.

I do not plan to replace the tubes or do anything else.
Maybe try to mod something simple but that's it.
The biggest concern is the uneven wear on one of the tubes. I don't know what color any of them are.

Frankly, no. If you can see the wear through the lenses like that, then they are in really rough shape. Then again you are in Sweden, so sets are more expensive there, but in the case of that set, you'd need to replace at least the G and B to get a decent image. I'd offer him $250.

The biggest concern is the uneven wear on one of the tubes. I don't know what color any of them are. | my biggest concern wouldn't be the wear but that it's running at 80 contrast? Normal contrast is around 50 to 60, so if it's at 80 the tubes could be suffering from the P14 over-voltage and damaged filaments= low output ?
Also, the center tube is the green one, usually the most burned. Blue is to the left, it doesn't look too good either. Red even has some wear but not too bad. New tubes are $600. each and require good technical skills to replace.

Thanks for the help.
Replacing the tubes or repairing it would put it in about the same price as a 1292 listed for 2350$
Good thing I asked bout contrast. He said it was about 80.
He said it was a very good picture out of it now but I'm not sure how that can be with those tubes.
I don't want to do much to a pj in terms of repairing. So it would have to be useful as is. Unless it would not cost a lot to do and be well wort it.
I don't mind hours of tweaking though.
Too bad it would be too expensive for me to buy from Curt. I don't have the money to buy a high en set that would offset the shipping costs.

Contrast can vary based on screen size, darkness of room, user preferences, etc. (Smaller screen in a darker room can run lower contrast.) Or it could be the P14 problem Dragan mentioned. But 80 is running it fairly hot. It would probably wear the tubes fairly quickly at that rate.
